[Addendum] The Tale of Skeletons in the Closet | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:29:26

Just some final words abut Patricia Esparza and her involvement/non-involvement in the 1995 murder of Gonzalo Ramirez. So if you have not listened to Episodes 169-171 listen to those first, then come back to this. In 1995, Patricia Esparza was a college student, attending school at Pomona University in California. She was an incredibly high achiever and would go on to become a professor of psychology at a university in Geneva. However, the road there was not easy, as Patricia described being sexually abused as a child and also having been date raped while attending college. The twist in her story is that her alleged rapist wound up being hacked to death with a meat cleaver 3 weeks later. His murder investigation grew cold…but it did not go away forever.  #171 The Tale of Skeletons in the Closet [Part 3] | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:00:37

This is the third part of a multi-part series, so if you have not listened to Episodes 169 and 170 listen to that first, then come back to this. There will most likely be an addendum because there is more I have to say but I’m getting too long winded as it is. In 1995, Patricia Esparza was a college student, attending school at Pomona University in California. She was an incredibly high achiever and would go on to become a professor of psychology at a university in Geneva. In 1995, Patricia Esparza was a college student, attending school at Pomona University in California.  #168 The Tale of the Persian Violets | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:44:57

On July 9, 2004, aspiring chemistry professor Jarrod Davidson was gunned down by a single bullet that pierced his chest as he stood on the front porch of his apartment. The unassuming single father of one seemed an unlikely target of what appeared to be a well-planned out execution. And even more puzzling was a pot of Persian violets that had been delivered to Jarrod’s door, with a card addressed “To My Teacher”. Nobody seemed to have a motive to want Jarrod dead…with the exception of one person. But could investigators prove their case? http://www.crimevoice.com/2013/12/31/hemet-parents-arrested-for-weapons-violations-and-child-endangerment/ https://roscoepond.blogspot.com/2019/02/48-hours-update-on-murder-comes.html https://archive.org/details/MSNBCW_20111008_180000_Family_Ties/start/3120/end/3180 https://www.leagle.com/decision/incaco20090923032 https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna15418659

 #167 The Tale of Apartment 132A | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:32:52

On June 29, 1978, Hogan’s Heroes actor Bob Crane was discovered murdered in his Scottsdale, Arizona apartment. He was beat about the head with a blunt object and a cord had been wrapped around his neck. Suspicion quickly fell upon his good friend, John Carpenter, a video electronics salesman. The investigation would uncover some salacious and unsavory details about Bob and his friend and their proclivities when it came to finding women they could film themselves having sex with. The case eventually grew cold as investigators had a difficult time proving who murdered the popular, lovable actor. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058812/ https://filmdaily.co/news/bob-crane-murder/ https://web.archive.org/web/20031019012747/http://www.crimelibrary.com/notorious_murders/classics/bob_crane/1.html?sect=13 https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/the-bob-crane-murder-case-part-one-6425957

[Bonus] The Unsolved Murder of Josephine Spegel | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:00:10

WARNING: This episode contains details involving child sexual abuse as well as some graphic details involving animal cruelty and may be difficult to listen to. Some of the names have been redacted or changed in order to protect the privacy of those involved. Listener discretion is strongly advised. The story I am sharing with you today was told to me by a listener who wishes to remain anonymous, she is not in our Facebook group, and I will refer to her as Dee Dee. She was related by marriage to a piece of human garbage named Melvin Just, a convicted child sex abuser and possible murder. A social worker and nurse named Josephine Spegel was assigned to his family and was to conduct home visits as a result of suspected abuse and neglect. She was murdered on March 10, 1969 and Just’s home was her last stop for the day. She was raped, strangled and buried in a shallow grave in Eureka, California. Her body was discovered the next day by a dog walker. While Just was suspected by nearly all of his family, he was never really fully investigated for the crime. 9 years later, he was convicted of sexual abuse, but still, he was never connected to Josephine’s murder and her case remains unsolved to this day. This episode is an effort to get some information about where Josephine’s case today, and if there is any hope of identifying her killer using modern science, technology, and of course, DNA. We also hope to bring a measure of closure to this for Dee Dee who had long buried these haunting memories, which only recently had been brought to the surface. Please listen to this carefully. Please take notes if you need to and write down any questions you may have for Dee Dee because I do want to follow up with an addendum to this. I have emailed the Humboldt County Sheriff’s about this case and am waiting for a reply. I also would like you to watch the documentary, AND if you happen to have lived or grew up near the “Emerald Triangle” of Northern California and have any insight to share, I would love to hear more about that from you as well.
