We also discuss other Cisco announcements including a Service Mesh Manager and a new UCS line. Microsoft has acquired an IoT firmware company to tackle software vulnerabilities, and a private equity company has acquired analyst firm IDC as part of a larger purchase of IDG Group. Amazon will activate its Sidewalk mesh network on June 8, which automatically opts in Ring and Echo devices. Telia Carrier gets spun out from Swedish telco Telia Company to compete in the global IP backbone market. A patent complaint has been filed against Cisco, Arista, Juniper and other vendors in the ITC.
