Green Beans, Mushroom Soup, & Strawberry Ice Cream_with your host Marc Gladstone

Summary: It's called Green Beans, Mushroom Soup & Strawberry Ice Cream. What the hell does that even mean!? It means I can play whatever the f..k I want to... just like radio used to do when it was real. Before it was all politics. When it wasn't owned by record companies who forced it to do their bidding. Real radio.

Hang out with me and check out some slightly off-beat time signatures on a show called, "What Time is it?"... the entire show will be songs that are a little outside the norm, as far as timing goes, but you might not even know it - all written from the "song first" philosophy, so the "out of the box" timing sneaks right in there... #petergabriel#pinkfloyd#davebrubeck#tombaxter#stonepoets#danreednetwork#allmanbrothers#kansas#mostlyautumn#ledzeppelinPeter GabrielPinkFloydTom BaxterStone PoetsDan Reed NetworkKansasMantra VegaLedZeppelin2Pacific Northwest Radio#pnwr Support the show.

 Songwriting 101_Where's That Confounded Bridge? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4714

One of the most misunderstood parts of a song is the bridge. Some of the descriptions on the internet are pretty funny... the long piano part at the end of Layla by Derek and the Dominos is not a bridge. A beautiful part, sure. Not a bridge. It’s also not “that bit between the verse and chorus... just filling time before getting to the good part... occasionally done so perfectly it even makes the chorus disappointing”... also not a bridge. And not a very good prechorus either, sounds like... There’s a definite art to good bridge writing. Check this show out for more and some great examples of amazing bridges... Support the show.
