Director and writer Dirk Maggs is back once again, this time revealing how he created a 1980s Thunderbirds adventure, wrote an origins story for GFI, and how he wrote a treatment for a previously unknown Gerry Anderson series: Ape Man. We also hear a bit more about Dirk's career, and reflections on the Supermarionation shows and their effect on his life. Dirk Maggs is a freelance writer and director and is principally known for his work in radio, where he evolved radio drama into "Audio Movies". Dirk has been a fan of Gerry Anderson from an early age. In part one of this chat, he talks about Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray and Thunderbirds - particularly focussing on the sound design and music. Not only was he a crucial part of many Gerry Anderson series like Terrahawks, Dick Spanner and Space Precinct, but he also designed and built many iconic pieces of science fiction history like the 1980s Cybermen and Chris Nolan's Tumbler for the Dark Knight films. This episode is a fascinating and highly personal insight into a little-discussed influence in Gerry Anderson's life.

Best known for his incredible range of voices in Terrahawks (including Yungstar, 101, Stew Dapples and Dix Huit) and as Captain Blue in New Captain Scarlet, Robbie talks us through his entry into voice acting right up to the present day including the Terrahawks audio continuation and Doctor Who work with Big Finish. Oh, and a Christmas version of the theme!
