 020 Holistic Healing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:52:33

I'm joined by my friend Alexander Sharone to discuss health, nutrition, and healing through holistic means. We discuss the ancient Indian medical system of ayurveda and the importance of catering an approach to the individual, rather than making broad brush strokes and generalizations about health. Towards the end, we talk about kambo, the poisonous tree frog from the Amazon that has found recent popularity for its cleansing properties.See more from Alexander at www.goldennectarfoods.comThe podcast is free to listen but not free to produce!  019 Brotherhood and Camaraderie | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:24:58

This is a conversation with two friends from my college fraternity about how men's groups can be a supportive force in the world - especially if they operate under a code of ethics. The first line of our mission statement is "Our goal is to build better men." We talk about our experiences in leadership positions, how we taught our members to respect women, and yes, our party experiences as well. Towards the end we talk psychedelics and have a potent discussion on American politics.Intro music by Chris Hallhttps://www.chrishall-music.com The podcast is free to listen but not free to produce!  017 Let's Talk About Death! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:08:26

Isn't it weird that we're all going to die and yet nobody talks about it? What lies on the other side is one of the greatest mysteries that we will all have to face and that uncertainty is very uncomfortable for some. Join me and my guest Sarah Makota as we talk about the transition out of the world of the living and how to process grief and sadness over loved ones who have departed. We also take a look at different cultural views on death and discuss the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying.  016 Psychology and Psychedelics | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:14:07

I am joined today by clinical psychologist Dr. Loi Medvin to discuss American culture and society in the context of mental health. In particular, we discuss some hot button issues like masculine/feminine dynamics and a sense of separation that many of us are feeling these days. In the last half of the episode, I ask Dr. Loi about her experiences with psychedelic plants and we both tell tales of unusual and non-ordinary states of consciousness and perception.  015 Ayahuasca and the Master Plants | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:20:20

We're back to one of my favorite topics - Ayahuasca. My guest today is Ayah Buonaugurio and we discussed her studies with ayahuasca and the "master plants" during her periods of shamanic apprenticeship. We talk about the processes one can undergo during shamanic ceremonies and vision quests and how to find the courage to do deep inner work, as well as what to do if you feel scared or overwhelmed in the middle of a psychedelic journey. The medicine path is not easy! We go into depth about what it really takes. "Ayah is a professional yoga teacher, dancer, Thai massage therapist, legally ordained spiritual minister, as well as women's health advocate and life coach in the field of womb wellness. She has been nurturing relationships in female communities around the globe. Traveling internationally, she has projects in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Peru, and Colombia, exchanging skills and sharing sacred dances, water prayers, sharing womb wisdom arts, and vitality practices." Jasmyn is back to talk more in depth about her role as a temple courtesan.  013 Magic Mushrooms and Teleportation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 55:25

This is my first solo episode and today I'll be telling the story of when I ate a huge dose of 7g of psilocybin magic mushrooms and fell off the edge of the universe! It was my peak experience from a period of going deeper and deeper with mushrooms and taught me a greater level of humility and respect for that fungus. The podcast is free to listen but not free to produce!  012 The Tantric Path | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:25:18

Many people know that tantra is associated with sexuality but it goes much, much deeper than that. It's a system that embraces all the aspects of who we are and helps us to awaken more deeply into our true nature. It's one of the oldest spiritual traditions on Earth and personally I find it refreshing to learn about a system that embraces sex instead of shames it and acknowledges the dark instead of rejecting it. That's why I brought in my friend Halo Seronko to tell us all about it. She has been studying tantra for many years and teaches sexual cultivation and jade egg practices to women. We had such a rich and deep conversation and this is definitely one of my favorite episodes so far.Reach Halo at:https://www.shaktitemplearts.com/andhttps://www.instagram.com/shaktitemplearts/Artwork by Android Jones The podcast is free to listen but not free to produce!  011 Burning Man and Transformational Festivals | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:47:14

Burning Man just ended last weekend and I sit down with some friends to discuss their experiences. BM is one of the largest "transformational festivals" in the world - gatherings that aim to bring people together through music, dance, art, and immersive experiences that challenge one to adventure, stretch their limits, and explore new boundaries. Intro music by Kalya Scintilla I'd love to know what you think!  010 The Learning Curve | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:55:58

We all have to start somewhere and for most of us, that somewhere is the beginning. Duh! I'm joined today by my long time friend Iskah Avaya to discuss the highs and lows of the spiritual path and in particular, some of the mistakes that are made when we first awaken to a greater sense of awareness. Are you someone who felt like you needed to enlighten ALL your friends and family to the awakened perspective that you so very recently grasped? Have you ever highlighted someone's indulgences and shortcomings while so conveniently ignoring your own? We've all been there. In this episode we discuss "spiritual bypassing" and also take some digs at the weird beliefs of the new age community. We also discuss masculine and feminine dynamics and where we think today's social trends will bring us.Reach Iskah at medicineweaver@gmail.comwww.iskahavaya.comIntro music by Timo Beckwithhttps://store.cdbaby.com/cd/timobeckwith I'd love to know what you think!  009 The Stuff of Myths and Legends | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:23:29

My guest today is Kai San and this was an impromptu episode that ended up going DEEP! We started off talking about his experiences traversing the underworld with ayahuasca and eventually wound our way into the realms of depth psychology, mythology, astrology, and archetype. It's the subconscious things that drive us and our inner world is inevitably characterized into myths about the deeper human story that we all share. I'd love to know what you think!  008 Psychedelic Integration | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:58:22

Psychedelic integration is the process that takes place after a psychedelic journey and is the opportunity to come to terms with the experience as well as apply the insights learned to one's daily life. It's an essential process but is often overlooked by many people who explore the shamanic realms. Too often we go straight back to our lives or ignore the insights that we've gained from the experience. Today I'm joined by Daniel Shankin from Mt. Tam Integration to talk about the integration process and why it's important, as well as the importance and benefit of ceremony and intention around the use of these substances.Learn more about the 6 week online integration intensive at tamintegration.comUse the code "Finch" for $50 off.  007 Ayahuasca - A Cautionary Tale | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:44:39

Ayahuasca and the medicine path can provide tremendous opportunities for healing and growth but a person can also find themselves in harm's way if they're not careful. Today I bring you the experiences of Jesse Klein, who sat in over 100 ayahuasca ceremonies over a 3 year period. He tells of the highs and the lows, but in particular how he found himself overextended and depleted after such a focused time on the medicine path. I relate my own story as well, which is similar to Jesse's and so many other people I know. It's very easy to get caught up in the highs of ayahuasca and want to keep going faster and faster, higher and higher. We share some of the wisdom gleaned from difficult experiences and learning the hard way. I've decided to start sharing a medicine song after each episode because the music is such a beautiful and important part of these ceremonies. I speak a description and basic translation beforehand. The song at the end of this episode is Agua de Estrellas and it's performed by Diego Palma. I'd love to know what you think!  006 The Man With No Name | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:11

My guest today is The Man With No Name. He goes by Nanashi, which is Japanese for "no name," and he is a cultivator and exporter of psychedelic plants. This episode was recorded in Chiang Mai, Thailand when I was there in March 2018. Nanashi is an ethnobotanist and studies the relationship between people and plants. He has been nurturing his garden in Thailand for the last 15 years and I got to speak with him about his experiences with these plants as well as tap into the knowledge he has acquired through extensive study. He was willing to speak to me under the condition of anonymity, due to the fact that he puts himself at personal risk by doing the work that he does. We covered a number of subjects, including the benefits and dangers of datura, his experience gathering and eating peyote with the Huichol people, and a different way to make ayahuasca by using the leaves instead of the vine.Reach out to Nanashi at nanashigarden@gmx.comHe's also an administrator on the website http://www.sharetheseeds.me/Intro music is classical music from Northern ThailandI'd love to know what you think!
