 TMS_S2E23 | How Facebook Manipulates Public Opinion | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:16:01

The Mindfullness Show is written and produced by Josiah Samuel Harry. Music by Josiah Harry, Jr. S2E23 Show Notes:In this episode, Josiah discusses why Facebook's decision to partner with CNN, Fox News, and other media companies to produce news-worthy content and original shows is, in essence, nothing more than posturing and positioning by Facebook to gain new market share. How does partnering with media conglomerates that report on fake news and disseminate misleading and propaganda-driven headlines and stories address the problem of fake news? Facebook's attempt to rebrand and revive its fledgling video on demand service, Watch, is just another avenue for Facebook to mine and collect the metadata of its users in order to share and sell the collected information to foreign companies and governments.  TMS_S2E20 | How the “Thank God It’s Friday” Mindset Could Be Hurting You | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:17:59

The Mindfullness Show is written and produced by Josiah Samuel Harry. Music by Josiah Harry, Jr. S2E20 Show Notes:In this episode, Josiah discusses the importance of mining value from each day of the week in order to win. Too many people are using Fridays and the Weekends to escape from their reality, when what they really ought to be doing is maximizing the opportunities that exist in those days to change their lives and their family tree. There are lots of people who say they want to win, but their actions betray them—their ambitions do not align with their actions. It is impossible to win if you are always looking forward to the next weekend break, or vacation break, or days off. You will not experience life's ultimate pleasures if you have a "days off" mentality. Don’t cheer for the weekend. Celebrate the opportunity to become the best version of you every day.  Thank you for making The Mindfullness Show a part of your weekday listening experience. Music by Josiah Harry, Jr. S2E16 Show Notes:Hot Takes: Edible cutlery is the new wave of a sustainable future.Main Segment: -North Korea, like every other sovereign nation, has a right to nuclear armament for self-defense. -Nations that are not armed with nuclear deterrents could become targets by rogue states. -If North Korea should disarm because of its "poor" human rights record, then the same justification should be applied to other countries, including the United States. -The US is not in any position to be pointing fingers at the rest of the world as it relates to human rights abuses and violations. -According to the Center for Research on Globalization, the World Report 2018, and the Human Rights Watch, the United States of America is the world's worst and most prolific human rights violator. -Donald J.  TMS_S2E15 | The NBA, Like the NFL, Operates on a Plantation Business Model | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:14:47

The Mindfullness Show is written and produced by Josiah Samuel Harry. Music by Josiah Harry, Jr. S2E15 Show Notes:Both the NFL and NBA's anthem policies were adopted by white people for white people as a way to maintain America's status quo of not regarding blacks as full citizens and also to punish blacks whenever they challenge symbols of white supremacy. The NFL and NBA's operational business model are more similar than different in that whites occupy most of the semi-permanent high-paying positions, while blacks are clustered at the bottom. The primary difference between the NFL and NBA is that the NBA is more culturally competent and knows how to placate its labor force with the right incentives so as to keep them in line. Sources for this episode: "Official Rules of the National Basketball Association." "Warriors' Steve Kerr slams NFL's new anthem policy" by Kyle Boone. "Clippers owner Sterling banned for life by the NBA." "PRO BASKETBALL;Abdul-Rauf Is Calm In Face of Controversy" by Jason Diamos. "The revival of Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf" by Mark Fainaru-Wada.  TMS_S2E13 | The NFL Plantation: A New Master Class Ownership | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:18:28

The Mindfullness Show is written and produced by Josiah Samuel Harry. Music by Josiah Harry, Jr. S2E13 Show Notes:Josiah discusses whether the National Football League (NFL) anthem policy for 2018, which forces players to stand for the National Anthem, violates players' constitutional rights. The NFL new anthem policy was adopted not because the NFL team owners are patriotic, but because the NFL team owners want to protect their bottom line. The NFL should not be allowed to require, compel, coerce, harass, or badger its players into silence in the face of widespread injustice and oppression. Injustice against Black Americans is an injustice against the voices, stories, and histories of all Americans.
