Summary: Hosted by Avery Raley and a fun group of rotating guest-hosts, Mom UP was created to encourage moms in the earlier years of motherhood. With biblical truth and a healthy dose of not taking yourself too seriously, MomUP is for millennial moms who want comradery. We want you to know you’re already in the club. We have the same struggles as you do; the same worries, the same goals and the same questions about how to get where we want to go. We’re hardworking moms who want to be candid with our shortcomings and serious about growth. We want to reach high while keeping our feet on the ground. Or as we like to say, "Mom UP".
Today's episode is somewhat of a hot topic! In episode 8 I confess why I just can't get behind schedules, and what we do at our house instead. I cover what naps look like, how I set habits with my kids and how I try to make the most of my time. This is good stuff, guys. I hope it serves you as it has me. And! If this episode resonated with you, then I created a FREEBIE just for you. All you have to do is go to www.momuppodcast.com and find the sign up bar at the very top of the page. Enter your email and your guide will come straight to your inbox. Easy peasy. Happy listening, friends!
Welcome back friends! In episode 7 I welcome back my friend Ellen Peek, who gives us a fascinating overview of the 9 Enneagram numbers and how they work. We also talk a lot about how knowing the Enneagram can benefit your marriage as well as give you eye opening insight into your sin struggles and how to fight against them. Ellen also tells us how her Enneagram number gives her perspective in motherhood. I found this episode really interesting and I learned so much! In fact.. after this episode I learned that I most likely am not EITHER of the numbers I mentioned in the episode. So if at first you can't figure out your number.. keep trying. Ha! So you'll want to keep an eye out for part 2 in a future episode! Are you familiar with the Enneagram? What's your number? Today's episode is one I think would benefit women in all seasons of life. In Episode 6 I welcome back Jen Gardner to talk about a very important topic: infertility. Whether you've walked this weary road yourself, or you know someone who has.. this discussion touches just about all of us. Jen is so kind to share her story with us and opens up about her journey and all the events and emotions that happen along the way. She offers encouraging advice to other women going through the trial of infertility. We also chat about what and what not to say to someone going through infertility (spoiler alert: I've totally said the wrong things!) which I find super helpful. Also we maybe get a little bit giggly and delirious towards the end... whoops. It was late? I really hope you'll listen to this episode and help us spread the love by widening this conversation that so often gets pushed down below the surface. If you haven't walked this road but have a friend going through infertility, would you share this episode with them? Let's link arms and show support for other women who are going through this difficult journey. If you enjoyed this episode it would mean the world to me if you left an iTunes review! In your purple podcast app search for "Mom Up". Find our pink and grey logo, select our show and then scroll down to the bottom where you'll see "write a review" in purple. It's a HUGE help to me in not letting our show get lost in the ocean of podcasts and I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much! Don't forget to check out Jen's Etsy shop Fashioned by Hand. She sells beautiful hand stamped jewelry that's all customized to you. Every purchase helps Jen and her husband continue to grow their family and I know she would be so appreciative of your support! In this episode I let you in on what my chaotic transition to motherhood looked like (spoiler - it wasn't easy) and give you 4 bits of advice to help you through that new mom season. If you're a new mom or you've been there before, I think you'll really relate to this. BONUS: I also created some FREE printables with my favorite bible verses for walking through those sometimes dark seasons. Go to www.momuppodcast.com to grab them.
In MomUP episode 4 I'm joined by my husband, Dustin Raley. We list out four lessons we've learned in four years of parenting 2 kids - including some mistakes we've made, times we've changed our minds and how our kid's different personalities affect our decisions. Also a little bit of awkward laughter because we recorded this past the hour of optimal brain function. Like this episode? Have another topic idea? Let me know what you thought in the show notes, via email or on Instagram @momuppodcast. Thanks for listening, friends!
In episode 3 we dig a little deeper into the heart as I confess to you some struggles I have with social anxiety and how it has played a role in my perceived self worth. I talk about struggles online and in person and one how my therapist helped take the blindfold off of my eyes and allowed me to see my negative patterns. Let me know what you thought about the episode on the website, or come say hello on Instagram @momuppodcast. And if you really want to make my day, would you mind taking a second and leaving an iTunes review? It really helps MomUP show up in searches and allows more people to find us. I would really appreciate it!
Welcome to episode 2 of MomUP! In this episode I chat with the ever so lovely Ellen Peek about the "trenches" of motherhood, and how to keep your head up in those difficult seasons. While raising little people fills our hearts till they burst, sometimes it's important to acknowledge the struggles so we can start moving UPwards. We each open up about some rough seasons we walked through and what we did (or didn't do) in the thick of it. We also chat about friendships (or lack of), depression, secondary infertility and some practical things that help us cope. Ellen is one wise lady and I loved digging into the deep with her! I think you will too. If you're enjoying the show, please let us know by leaving an iTunes review! It makes a huge difference in our podcast being seen and we would love your support in helping grow our MomUP community. Welcome! I'm Avery Raley, your host of the MomUP podcast. I could not be more thrilled that you've found us. Thank you for being a part of our community! In this first episode of MomUP I chat with my friend Jen Gardner about social media and motherhood. We cover everything from paying attention to your feelings to setting goals and creating new habits around your phone. We share some confessions about habits we want to change and why. And we'll address some hard questions about our hearts in regards to these little handheld machines and how we can honor the Lord with our time, even online. It may not be as obvious as you think. This episode is SO applicable to our everyday lives and a conversation I think we could all participate in! Once you take a listen, let me know what you thought on Instagram (@momuppodcast), Facebook or in the comments! If you're enjoying the show, please let us know by leaving an iTunes review. Welcome to the website for the MomUP podcast! I can't believe I'm finally here. It was last summer, almost a year ago when my husband actually came up with the idea of me starting a podcast (smart guy). After SO much trial an error, pushing the pause button a couple times due to life changes, and a whole lot of googling, we're here! And I couldn't be more excited. THANK YOU for joining me on this journey. I really want MomUP to become a community landing place for young moms. I want to connect. I want to share some laughs. I want to talk about all the stuff we're all thinking but not nearly enough people are talking about. I'm so thrilled to FINALLY be publishing this post and doing this thing. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it. Welcome! -Avery
