In this episode of Alter Everything, we’re joined by Carlene Jones and Nynne Haagensen. Dialing in from Copenhagen, they have a chat with host Maddie Johannsen about building analytics culture using a staircase framework, how to be responsible with your data, and why you should think bigger and just get things done.

In our last episode of the Data [in the] Sandbox mini-series, Maddie ponders what she’d like to be when she grows up. Now that Susan has explained analytics and data, Maddie wants a job where she can solve puzzles using data! But, what kind of jobs deal with data and analytics? Luckily, Susan knows all about this, and shares her knowledge so Maddie can become an analytics mastermind!

In the 4th episode of the “Data in the Sandbox” mini-series, Susan shows Maddie how to use data and something called “spatial analysis” to help Maddie win the game she’s playing on her phone!

In the third episode of our “Data [in the] Sandbox” mini-series, Susan tells Maddie all about psychics and predicting the future! Erm... well... actually she talks about predictive analytics, and how you can use patterns in data to make educated guesses on what is likely to happen in the future. Tune in to hear how!

In the second episode of our “Data [in the] Sandbox” mini-series, Susan tells Maddie all about correlation vs. causation... we know it sounds complicated! But it’s actually really cool and important, especially for understanding stats you might hear in the news, or fun facts like the statistic Maddie learned: that shark attack rates go up when ice cream sales rates go up. Does this mean that sharks are jumping out of the water and stealing ice cream?! Are people dumping ice cream into the ocean to share the tasty summer treat with their shark friends?!
