God will often lead us through the “wilderness” to protect us from battles we’re not ready for, and to prepare us for the battles he wants to take us through.

Gaining favor with people around us seems pretty appealing, right? When we strive for that, we often end up trying for the wrong things. We can strive for individual attributes, or we can change the root of our lives to find the fruit we’re after.

All of us will eventually have a tombstone with two dates on it. We don’t control those dates, but there’s one thing we do control: the dash. Let’s live with eternity in mind by making the most of our time here on this earth.
