We recently had the pleasure of speaking with the incredible Bobbie Jean Brown about her life and career! Bobbie first became a household name as a contestant on Star Search. Winning a record breaking 13 times on the show, Bobbie caught the attention of Hollywood and the rocker boys who lived there! After that Bobbies career took flight, she was acting, modelling and helping to create rock n roll history by starring in many music videos including Warrant’s Cherry Pie.

A chat with Steven Michael and Sonny “Hollywood” Pooni of ‘Growin’ Up Rock’ Podcast fame! These two rockers joined forces to talk all things hard rock and metal. They are true fans and live for the music. Like all of us at the RNRA, it is in the blood stream, born in an age when music was the currency that drove the culture. But they aren’t just discussing the past, they are very much into the present. In fact, their fourth show featured Sam Kizka from current young rock gods Greta Van Fleet!

As teenagers in Phoenix, Dennis Dunaway, bassist and co-songwriter for the Alice Cooper group, and lead singer Vince Furnier (who would later change his name to Alice Cooper) formed a hard-knuckles band that played prisons, cowboy bars, and teens clubs. Their wild, impossible journey took them from Hollywood to the ferocious Detroit music scene, and along the way they discovered the utterly original performance style and look that would make them the stuff of legend.

In August we had the great pleasure of heading down to Memphis and doing a tour of the legendary Sun Studio.  With Elvis acting as our guardian angel, that tour turned into a late night, after hours recording session with Daniel Hall and Ples Hampton.

Wayne Kramer is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer and film and television composer/ Kramer came to prominence as a co-founder of the Detroit rock group MC5 (Motor City Five), a group known for their powerful live performances and radical left-wing politics. MC broke up in 1972 amid personality conflicts, drug abuse and personal problems. Wayne battled drug addiction for many years, finally recovering in the 1990’s where he returned to an active recording and performing schedule.

Henry Diltz is a legendary photographer and musician active since the 1960’s. He is famous for capturing the laidback Laurel Canyon scene of the early 1970’s, the cover of The Doors album, ‘Morrison Hotel’ and the Woodstock music festival, where he was dubbed the “official photographer”. He got his professional start meeting the Monkees, photographing them and actually playing on a few of their tracks.

Jorma has just released his memoir, 'Been So Long: My Life and Music'. From the privileged son of an American diplomat where he spent his youth in far away lands, to finding himself in San Francisco as the ‘Summer of Love’ was blooming, where he helps form the foundational band Jefferson Airplane. After a few years at the heights of rock stardom he forms Hot Tuna with bandmate, Jack Casady and they’ve been playing together ever since.

Grace was well known for her outspoken and badass ways onstage, and audiences loved them. Their music filled the airwaves from the ’60’s – ’80’s (and then some!) and their presence at 3 of the biggest and most notorious music festivals (Monterey Pop, Woodstock and Altamont) solidified their place in music history. It was a wild ride and Grace embraced all that the 60’s has come to be known for, free love, drugs and a whole lotta rock n roll!  Tune in to hear Grace’s rock n roll journey!
