In his Good Friday homily, Bishop Burbidge reminds us that when we fall, we must remember that Christ fell, too. "And so today the Church asks us to meditate upon the Passion just proclaimed for us, noting that there is nothing we ever experience in this world that Jesus did not experience. He took on all the world had to offer: mistreatment, temptation, sin and suffering. And under the pressure, He fell three times."

Bishop Burbidge shares in his homily: "Love is what sustains us and motivates us in our marriages, our friendships in our service to the Lord and His Church and on this solemn night that's what we celebrate: Love God's great love for us."

In his homily, Bishop Burbidge called upon all of us — young people, married couples, lay faithful, and our dear priests who renewed their priestly promises today — to live out our vocations united to Christ.

On Saturday, more than 700 women from across the Diocese gathered for a day of inspiring witness, prayer and Mass at St. Joseph Church, in Herndon. The women attended morning Mass with Bishop Michael F. Burbidge. In his homily, he spoke about the importance of humility, as seen in the wonderful example of the tax collectors as well as Mary and Christ.

On Saturday, under the theme "Marked Men: Called to Greatness," more than 700 attended the Men's Conference at St. Joseph Church, in Herndon. Bishop Burbidge was the main celebrant and homilist during Mass. He spoke to those attending the sold out event about God's mercy and grace, acknowledging our weaknesses in order to grow. He even tied in the Philadelphia Eagles and the example one player shows acknowledging failure to build character.
