A couple of new (to me) insights from 1 Nephi 8 (The Book of Mormon) and the open invitation to partake of the atonement of Jesus Christ. Christ stands beckoning us regardless of who we are at what we have done. He wants us to come to us. There are no restrictions on partaking of the fruit--listen up find out our only barrier to our getting to the fruit of the tree.
In a church that so highly encourages service, sometimes we get confused about the why. We don't serve to remove the burdens of others--our Savior is really the only person who can do that. So, why do we provide service to others and what purpose does it serve?
I'm back! Sometimes we get stuck in overwhelm--or simply wanting to do what is right. So what is the answer? Just. Do. Something.
In the middle of observing my children and their behavior, I generally learn some pretty profound things about myself. Perhaps it is where I am in my personal development. Regardless, I get some great takeaways. This week--I share a lesson I learned from a situation with Jane and Nora.
I talk about my struggles and how they fit in with Ether 12:27 and Ether 12:6. It would be so much easier just to quit! Listen to this episode and find out if that is what I have decided.
Do you remember the Rich Man from the Bible? He kept all of the commandments from the time he was young and asked Jesus what else he additionally needed to do to enter the kingdom of heaven. The response? Give all your money away. Every living person is the Rich Man. What do we hold onto? What are we not willing to let go of? I share some of my own. I'm so grateful for God's grace and new beginnings each day and each moment! Visit www.abitawhit.com for the transcript.

Listen while I talk about judgments I felt about others, and how ultimately, I realized we were actually the same. Love always seems to be the answer in these circumstances.
Often time we look to serve the refugees and miss that there are refugees among us. We can change the world through looking into the eyes of those around us , connecting, and lifting.
This week I talk about friendship--about dropping your manuals and following Christ's example to love.
Acts of service bind us together with love--both as the giver and the receiver. There are some things we may believe are true about service (it is hard, inconvenient, and looks like making dinner for someone). I discuss these and share some of my thoughts.
In this episode I discuss another aspect of agency, which is personal responsibility. I share the freedom and power that come from how we can take full responsibility for our lives.
This week I share a new perspective I have recently gained concerning the parable of the talents. The perspective builds upon the idea that commandments are given to bless us.
Think about your feelings when you are driving in a rush. How you feel about other drivers and the entire process and day. Now think about when you are driving--quite the contrast. In this episode, I talk about perspective and how sometimes our perspective blows things out of proportion--especially when it comes to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Sometimes we let doubts about details ruin the entirety of it all. Take a listen and visit my website www.abitawhit.com.
