On this episode we review the treatment and management of opioid use disorder (OUD). We discuss some background on the opioid epidemic as well as some physiologic changes that are seen with long-term opioid use. On this episode, we discuss the management of dyslipidemia. We start by reviewing some basic pathophysiology. Then, we discuss the evidence-based medications utilized for controlling patients' lipid panels as well as the long-term prevention of cardiovascular events.
