His productions and DJ style focus on pulsing basslines, atmospheric melodic elements, beautiful lofty synthesizers and pads, sometimes partnered with otherworldly deep vocals. This month we welcome seasoned New York-native, nightlife hustler, DJ and producer Morsy to the podcast. The man has played almost every room in NYC and you can hear that experience in the records that he’s released with legendary NY house labels Nervous Records and Strictly Rhythm. Rocking dance floors for over 15 years, Morsy's shared the decks with legends such as Todd Terry, Moby, KiNK, Stanton Warriors, and the late DJ AM. It's no surprise then that Morsy’s podcast for Subdrive showcases his full-range love of house. Kicking off the new season of podcasts, we're extremely excited to welcome Brazilian duo, @mumbaata, made up of producers/DJs Lennox Hortale and Pedro Poyart. With releases on luminary labels such as Get Physical, Dear Deer, D-Edge, Warung, and Re:Sound, they’ve quickly become one of the most respected projects in the electronic music scene in their native Brazil. Mumbaata takes inspiration from various sources including African and Brazilian cultures, electronic music, and Jazz, blending them into dance floor ready tunes and performances that cross cultural boundaries. The duo was awarded breakthrough producer at the Rio Music Conference Awards 2017 and played at the Electronica Stage in Rock In Rio 2017 Festival. Fall is officially here and we’ve got some chill vibes in this month’s podcast from two folks who have individually contributed in the past, @xanderoliver & @mtothejeezy. They’re joining forces to launch their new project, Brooklyn-based STAY DEEP, an artist collective compromised of DJs, visual artists, and photographers. STAY DEEP aims to curate unique experiences for the mind, body, and soul through music. For Episode 29 the guys have laid down an almost 2-hour long wax-only set comprised of classics, throwback house, funky grooves, and more. For September we have a banging techno set from up and coming talent 28mm. NY born, 28mm was exposed to electronic music at a young age and went west to solidify his production and music skills. 28mm is dark, melodic textured techno and deep house fused with a strong rhythmic base. He already has numerous releases under his belt with more coming through 2017. Our latest mix is from freshmen Brooklyn duo Bodywork, aka James Hartnett and Mac Stringer. Friends, sound engineers, and talented producers/DJs, James and Mac have worked closely with venues, studios, and brands such as Quad Studios, Oz Studios, Subculture, Youtube Space NY, Boiler Room and more.  Producing and DJing high energy and deep tech-house, Bodywork aims to provide a grooving and eclectic vibe tailor made for the dance floor. With their first release out on OKNF Collective's “IBITHA!” compilation earlier this summer and some exciting upcoming bookings, Bodywork is quickly making a name for themselves. Born Darianna Mayer in Caracas, Venezuela, Darelectric has aligned herself with the Secret Guests crew, produces a monthly live radio show for Globalmixx Radio called ‘Stamina’, and has released original productions such as 'Romantic Soul EP' for Moveubabe Records and 'Cruise EP' for Klinik Room Recordings. Darelectric joined us at our Soho House New York residency this month and laid down a beautiful and groovy set that blends her influences and taste from the broad spectrum of house and techno. We thought it absolutely fitting to share that same live set from our event with our following for her Subdrive podcast. Heavy percussion, bassy grooves, and beautiful vocal cuts take you on a journey to distant and imagined places, just as she did that Saturday night with us. This month we’re excited to showcase Dischetto, our guest at this Saturday’s Subdrive party, resident of NYC’s Webster Hall Saturdays: GOTHAM, and @nesthq ’s resident head of techno. Her artist name, Dischetto, is a portmanteau of ‘dischetto’ and ‘tech’, resulting in the name: Dischetto-tech (pronounced: dis-ketto-tek), an homage to techno’s early roots in Detroit and Chicago ghetto-tech. With strong roots in and inspiration from classic electronica a la Kraftwerk, Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode, and Dopplereffekt, she specializes in all things electro, techno, and EBM. Her skills as a selector and curator have seen her play gigs from LA, NYC, Holy Ship in Miami as well as playing alongside names such as Boys Noize, Zombie Nation, Mija, Tchami, Moon Boots, and Bixel Boys. This month is a special heartfelt tribute mix to the late DJ and producer @BIGMAKK, whose catalog of releases spanned the gamut of genres from moombahton, bass, and more on some of the industry's biggest labels. His close friend Florida-based artist and member of Moombah Mafia, @ma_less, decided to create this #BigMakkForever tribute mix for her Subdrive podcast. "I had the honor and the privilege of DJing alongside Big Makk for over 5 years at Shake 'n Bass. I got to watch him grow as an artist, as a person, and as my friend, honestly he was family to me. His music was always amazing to me, I remember the first song to really grasp my attention was his Head's High flip. I knew then this man was destined to be nothing but amazing. I watched him evolve and really elevate himself to another level especially after attending F.I.R.S.T. Institute. I was really excited to see where he was going and was always so immensely proud, to say he inspired me would be an understatement, he changed my life not only through his music but with the magnitude of the kindness and love he possessed in his soul. Although he is no longer with us, I feel his presence in all that I do. His music is the greatest gift he left behind and it has brought me so much peace and joy. This mix is compiled of some of my favorite songs from when I first met him to songs he left behind. It’s the middle of December and we’ve now clocked in 16 podcast episodes (including this one) in the past 12 months. To close out 2016, we’ve got a fantastic mix from one of the original Subdrive artists who we’ve known since the blog house/electro days, NYC dance floor veteran Krames. Krames’ eclectic production expertise pulls from a variety of bass heavy genres and a solid decade of experience under his belt. Constantly evolving, he’s established himself as a talented force within the underground of NYC with recent releases on Todd Terry’s Terminator records and his own analog techno focused Afterwave Records, which he founded in 2016. His skillful precision when producing and performing with hardware, drum machines and modular synths heavily influences this month’s mix. You’ll hear warm, chaotic analog techno stitched deeply throughout his podcast for us, a perfect way to end the year.
