How to Overcome Trauma and Improve in Love and Life | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:28

Most of us have faced some traumas in our life, and these can manifest in our relationships, affecting who we partner with and how the relationship works out. In our new interview, we spoke with Riana Milne about how you can identify and overcome traumas and improve in love and life. Riana is a licensed mental health counselor, certified mindfulness coach, and clinical trauma professional. She has over 20 years of experience helping all ages heal from various types of adverse events or trauma. Our discussion begins with an overview of adverse childhood traumas, or ACEs. Approximately 90% of people have experienced at least one or two ACEs. Riana describes some of the most common ones. She then reveals how these childhood traumas can lead to adult toxic behavioral patterns. These toxic behaviors often end up sabotaging relationships. What if you have a past trauma? What if it's now manifesting by negatively impacting your relationships? Riana describes the signs to look for, but know that they can include unconscious emotional triggers and behaviors. How do you overcome these childhood traumas, emotional triggers, and negative behaviors? Working with a coach, like Riana, can be the best path forward. Riana reveals how she helps her clients and what kind of transformation people can expect to see after working with her.  How to Upgrade Your Mindset and Transform Belief into Success | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:46

Believe it or not, a lot of our professional success comes from our own business mindset. Sometimes we hold ourselves back or don't position ourselves for career growth. But it doesn't have to stay that way. What if we could change that negative mindset to one, instead, of success? We recently spoke with author and podcaster Holly Worton about how to transform your business beliefs and accomplish your professional goals. To kick off our discussion, Holly explains the importance and power of mindset and belief. Indeed, how we see things affects how we act. If you're feeling unconfidant or doubtful, that can lead to subtle shifts in how you talk and behave. But, if you recall the childhood mantra of "I think I can," that can be all the boost you need to get past the obstacles and onward to achieving your goal. However, as Holly describes, much of this happens subconsciously. What is the power of the subconscious mind, and how can we learn to communicate with that better? Holly provides her best tips on how to tap into this hidden side of your psyche. In Holly's books, she goes into detail on over 600 business beliefs. Here, she describes some of those belief statements and how they can be used in your everyday life. We then dive into how to change those subconscious beliefs and, ultimately, create new, more positive belief statements. Indeed, transforming our fears and beliefs can minimize the learning curve. This puts us on a better path towards reaching our goals. Finally, Holly talks about the intersection of business mindset and the transformative power of nature. She ends our conversation with some wisdom on how listening to nature can impact your mindset. Before we dive into the podcast interview, be sure to check out Holly Worton's official site, her Into the Woods podcast, and her helpful business books. Are you ready to learn how to transform your business mindset and realize success? Listen to our podcast with Holly Worton below:

For the past few months, sales leader Patrick Carter and our CEO Lynn Whitbeck have been working through their new 12-part series all about sales power skills, as explained through their “PERFORMANCE” acronym. We've learned all about the first four letters – “Problem Solving,” “Engagement,” “Resilience,” and "Flexibility" – and this week, the duo are offering a bonus episode. Flexibility isn't just a skill for sales success; it's also instrumental in demonstrating genuine respect for others. Lynn and Patrick cover how this is especially important in light of COVID-19 and our rapidly changing world. Last time, Patrick and Lynn described the value of flexibility in your career. Getting outside of your comfort zone and expanding your horizons help you grow - both professionally and personally. If you're not so flexible now, it's a skill you can learn and practice. Beyond the aforementioned benefits of flexibility, it also gives you a framework for respect in others. In these tense times, respecting others and truly listening to their experiences and perspectives is crucial. Flexibility helps you understand others and embrace differences. It will help us through the stresses of the Coronavirus pandemic, and it will helps us through the ongoing protests in support of the #BlackLivesMatter movement and ending police brutality.  What is it Like to be an Immigrant in America Today? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:44

America is a nation of immigrants, and we welcome people from all over the world. But the last several years have been especially turbulent for our immigrants. What is it like to be an immigrant here today? We spoke with Irina VanPatten, originally from Moldova, about her own experiences and her new book on this subject. Her recently published book, Welcome to America, Welcome Home!: An Immigrant’s Guide to Success, is based on interviews with American immigrants and professionals alike, illuminating successes and hardships as immigrants try to assimilate and succeed in America. Being an immigrant in any country comes with ups and downs, and cultural differences can lead to memorable moments. We're all well aware of the bad ones, but Irina is more focused on the good. At the beginning of our conversation, she shares some funny stories from her own life as an immigrant. Language barriers can lead to hilarious misunderstandings! These moments are what first inspired Irina to write a book. But after the 2016 election, she decided to greatly expand the scope of her writing. In addition to sharing her own anecdotes, Irina interviewed numerous people - from other immigrants to immigration lawyers - to give it a fuller look at immigration. Talking to such diverse people led to some surprising discoveries, which helped enrich her book. Irina also shares how her view of immigration has changed in the past few years, as well as whether she's felt a difference in how others treat her. She addresses some of the most common misconceptions about immigrants, and offers her ideas on how people can reach common ground on this subject. Finally, harkening back to the theme of her book, Irina shares her advice for immigrants who are trying to make a home in America. Visit Irina's website, Coffee and Sangria Talks, to learn more. You can also connect on her Facebook page. And be sure to read her new book, Welcome to America, Welcome Home!: An Immigrant’s Guide to Success.  What is Emotional Eating and How Can You Overcome It? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:33

Many of us struggle with our weight, sometimes leading to lower confidence or insecurity about our appearance. Why is it so hard to maintain a specific weight? For many, it comes down to emotional eating. We spoke with Renée Jones about this and how she has developed a method that tackles that fundamental issue. After 40 years of trying various diets, she has unlocked a process to move past triggers, end self-sabotage, and maintain your goal weight. First, we dive into why people overeat, and how emotions can play into it. Renée describes the symptoms of emotional eating and how it's likely to manifest. She then talks about the kinds of experiences or relational dynamics that can lead to emotional eating. You may have been in a particular situation or relationship that spurred this reaction in how you eat. While you can't change the past, you can work to overcome it and retrain your brain. This is where Renée comes in. She works with clients to unearth the reasons behind their emotional eating, and, moreover, rewrite those reactions. Finally, our podcast interview ends with a discussion of the “epidemic of low self-worth,” how our society can negatively (and positively!) impact it, and how that relates to emotionally eating. Before we dive into the full podcast, be sure to learn more about Renée Jones and overcoming your eating habits here. She offers courses, a book, and one-on-one coaching. She also has a special gift for you! Find out what it is here. Do you want to learn more about emotional eating? Listen to our full interview with Renée Jones in our podcast below:
