I travelled to Coin Center in DC to talk with Jerry Brito and Peter Van Valkenburgh about the regulatory environment and congressional attitudes towards privacy-centric crypto projects. We talk about the Coinbase/IRS John Doe summons and the ULC's model state law. Then we talk about financial surveillance law and how privacy projects fit in the US regulatory environment, distinguishing between open and closed blockchains, and how the Monero community might be able to get involved in Coin Center's advocacy.
