 Grave Mysteries S1 E3: A Secret Life | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 51:02

This week’s episode of Grave Mysteries was an unusual story of an unlikely victim of prostitution and a violent murder. Brittany was a model high school student who worked with younger kids at the local rec center. When she vanished after taking a trip to the store, her family became concerned. Their concern turned to panic when night fell and she still wasn’t home. They called the police. There were concerns about Brittany’s older boyfriend, Derrick. They didn’t approve of him and suspected he had done something to Brittany. The investigation depends upon Facebook and phone record searches to find Brittany’s killer. And, in a terrible twist, she isn’t the only victim. Rate us on iTunes Twitter Facebook Shop the brewery

A missing person? Check. A murder? Check. Stellar police work? Well… In this, the finale of Gone, we ask ourselves if we are being overly critical or are most of these cases prolonged due to less than stellar investigatory work. Dena Raley-McCluskey was feeling positive about life when she didn’t show up for her first day back to work after an extended leave. Did her abusive boyfriend do something to Dena?  Gone S1 E3: Paradise Lost | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 58:37

Charlotte Moriarty and her infant son disappeared from a Hawaiian bus stop in June 1977, leaving behind only an empty stroller.  Mark Barnes, Charlotte’s live-in boyfriend and the father of their baby, Marx, would search for them for over 30 years before being reunited with his son.  But what became of Charlotte?  This episode of Gone leaves us wondering just that. This is a case where police were either unaware or unconcerned for the first 3 weeks after the disappearance.  Do you believe police or Mark Barnes’ story about when the disappearance was reported?  Is it safe to assume that Charlotte doesn’t want to be found?  Gone S1 E2: Troubled Waters | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:00:12

When teenagers Cheryl Miller and Pam Jackson disappeared on the first night of summer 1971, everyone who knew them was shocked and baffled.  These were good girls with no reason to run away from home.  They had been paid from their jobs that day and never cashed their paychecks.  With repeated searches, false leads, and emotional ups and downs, no one could have predicted that it would take four decades to solve this mystery. After watching this episode of Gone on Investigation Discovery, Jill and Dick discuss the heartfelt tales of people who knew the girls and the long years spent without answers. This seems like another case of inadequate searches and poor police work.  Is this a theme with this show?  We will find out next week. Twitter Facebook Join Tiegrabber
