Episode 13: The NWA TV Title | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4762

This week JJ and Rich get into the history of the NWA TV title and some of the champions that held it. This is not an exhaustive history of each and every champion, but more of an historical look at what the TV title meant in the big scheme of things. When many fans think of the TV Title, they think of the WCW version that traces its lineage to the Mid-Atlantic TV Title. But the Georgia TV Championship was the one defended on TBS prior to 1985. The guys touch on some of the TV champions from both the Mid-Atlantic and Georgia territories, and discuss in detail one of the most-remembered TV Title rivalries from the Crockett era involving Dusty Rhodes vs. Tully Blanchard. (In full disclosure, Arn Anderson's reigns as NWA/WCW TV Champion will be discussed on an upcoming full-length "Enforcer" episode. ) JJ also shares stories of working with the man whom he calls the greatest manager of all time, Bobby the Brain Heenan. ---Get JJ's Autobiography "Wrestlers are Like Seagulls" at www.jjdillon.com ---Pick up a JJ Dillon Show T-Shirt at www.prowrestlingtees.com/jjdshow ---EMAIL the show - jjdillonshow@mlw.com ---TWITTER - @JJDillonShow @RichBocchini #AskJJD

 Episode 9: Saturday 6:05 WTBS Tapings | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5528

The moment WTBS beamed its signal to satellite in 1979, the station became a powerhouse in the wrestling world. The longtime home of Georgia Championship Wrestling was now available to cable companies across the US and Canada. And just like that, the landscape of regional territories began to fracture. The familiar Saturday 6:05 p.m. time slot itself (along with accompanying times on Saturday morning and Sunday evening) was one that was hotly contested over its tenure, beginning almost as soon as the ink dried on the first contract structured in 1972. On this week's show, JJ and Rich discuss the history and importance of WTBS to wrestling as a whole, with a special focus on the Crockett era. They also get into JJ's personal memories of taping TV at the TBS Studio, including a few hilarious tales involving late nights and the lengths the Four Horsemen had to go to in order get there on time.  Episode 7: War Games; The First-Ever Match | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5697

JJ suffered what he called the worst injury of his career thanks in part to the War Games structure. The dual steel cages surrounded a pair of rings, inside of which two teams of five battled in the ultimate "I Quit" match at the Omni in Atlanta on July 4, 1987. How violent was this match? Did Lex Luger refuse to "get color." JJ tells a funny story about his "public workout" in a match against Alan Martin on TBS prior to the first War Games match, and also reveals a long-held secret regarding the finish of the Lex Luger/Ric Flair World Title match in Baltimore the following year at the Great American Bash. --Follow the show on Twitter - @jjdillonshow --Follow Rich on Twitter - @richbocchini --Use # AskJJD to get involved in the conversation --Email questions to us - JJDillonShow@MLW.com
