Another week of the offseason in the books as we creep closer to OTAs and pre-season. Listen weekly on Fridays! Vikings News Five of eight drafted played have signed contracts: Vikings announce the following rookies have signed their contracts: Daniel Carlson, K (5th round) Colby Gossett, G (6th round) Ade Aruna, DE (6th round) Devante Downs, LB (7th round). Brian O’Neill (2nd round) Vikings had rookie mini-camp over the weekend. Tyler Conklin looked good.  Mike Hughes worked at slot corner (41 year old Terrance Newman currently plays slot corner) and returned punts. Vikings signed four tryout players after rookie minicamp over the weekend: WR Chad Beebe, CB Craig James, FB Johnny Stanton (former UNLV QB who was listed as a TE at rookie camp) and LB Brett Taylor. To make room on the 90 man roster, Minnesota waived LS Nick Dooley, WR Armanti Foreman, DT Caushaud Lyons and FB Kamryn Pettway. Browns News Hue Jackson to jump in Lake Erie June 1 TE Julian Allen and DL Lenny Jones – tryout players signed after rookie minicamp Allen (6-3, 245 lbs) played college most recently at Southern Mississippi, where he logged 22 catches for 298 yards over the past two years. He was graded as the 35th-ranked tight end by Dane Brugler of NFL Draft Scout. Jones (6-2, 256 lbs) is one of two players who were on a tryout but were not rookies technically. He was an undrafted free agent in 2016 out of Nevada, and spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, and Dallas Cowboys. Rookie minicamp “Earn your stripes”, Baker Mayfield Took More Snaps Under Center at minicamp with Browns Than All of College more Todd Haley talking with the QB’s than Hue Jackson. The trade involving TE Randall Telfer and DE Dadi Nicolas was called off, but each team just decided to waive their own player anyway Baker Mayfield rooming with Nick Chubb until he finds a house The new addition to the team is QB Joel Stave. At 6-5, 236 pounds, he’s by far the biggest quarterback on the Browns. Over the past two years, he’s spent time on the practice squads of the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, and New York Jets. He has some ties to GM John Dorsey and, for now, will be the fourth quarterback arm in camp.
