Jake was performed by Chris Fletcher. Monica was performed by Georgia Mckenzie. The music was composed by Chris Fletcher. All artwork was done by Sara Warren. Sounds effects are courtesy of the incredible people at Freesound.org. And don’t forget to listen to us on Radio Public. Or . . . All the above. Any effort, no matter how little, is appreciated. Today’s podcast recommendation is The Earth Collective: The Earth Collective is a story of Mankind's survival on Oasus, a distant planet, far from earth. They live in rolling cities to stay bathed in constant sunlight, running from The Dark, a malicious entity that resides on the dark-side of the planet. The world-building in this podcast is simply magnificent. I felt like I was both watching a great science fiction movie series, and reading an epic science fiction book series. The world is so immense and complex and I’m always waiting for the next episode to learn more about this unique world. Thanks for listening and all your support, and join us in two weeks for Episode 18: People in Glass Houses.

This week’s podcast recommendation is Duggan Hill: On a back country road outside the hamlet of Duggan Hill, Saskatchewan, a woman named Sasha Ismond goes missing without a trace. She had been travelling from Vancouver for the past day, and was mere minutes away from her father's home. The last person she spoke to was her former partner, Zoe, a journalism student at the University of British Columbia. This is a collection of recovered audio recordings from the subsequent investigation into her disappearance, recorded during the summer of 2015. Similar to Rose Drive, Duggan Hill is a growing mystery that at first you want to know what exactly happened to Sasha, but as the mystery grows, you start to wondering what the exactly the hell is going on in this strange town. Finally, thanks for listening. Without you, there wouldn’t be any point in doing this podcast. So thank you and see you in two weeks with Episode 17: Rapa Nui.

This week’s podcast recommendation is Rose Drive: 7 friends are interviewed after a 10 year high school reunion tragedy occurs. Welcome to Southampton. Are You Listening? This is Markus Hill. If you’re here, you’ve agreed to help me find Forrest Sutherland. I can’t do this alone. Told through a series of interviews in an ongoing investigation, Rose Drive starts out seemingly innocuous, but then you can’t help thinking and wondering and trying to put the pieces together in your head . . . And before you know it, you’re anxiously awaiting the next episode! Finally, thanks for listening. Without you, there wouldn’t be any point in doing this podcast.  Episode 14 - Voyager | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:32:15

Jake begins the episode talking about something called the Voyager program, then leads to he and Monica going through door #42 and on the other side finding themselves very far from Ostium both in space and time. This episode was written and produced by Alex C. Telander. The voice of Jake is performed by Chris Fletcher; the voice of Monica is performed by Georgia Mackenzie. All the music was composed by Chris Fletcher. Graphic design and artwork is done by Sara Warren. This week’s podcast recommendation is the Victoriocity (https://www.victoriocity.com/): A detective comedy drama set in even Greater London in 1887. In this vast metropolis, Inspector Archibald Fleet and journalist Clara Entwhistle investigate a murder, only to find themselves at the centre of a conspiracy of impossible proportions. I’m not a huge fan of comedic podcasts because I like more stories serious and gripping, but Victoriocity manages to do both incredibly well. There’s the non-stop dry British humor that has me constantly laughing out loud, along with the cool steampunkish world of this alternate London where technology has gone in some very interesting directions. Plus you get to hear from Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. What’s not to like? Finally, thanks for listening. Without you, there wouldn’t be any point in doing this podcast. So thank you and see you in two weeks with Episode 15: Columbia.

 Episode 13 - Anjikuni | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:33:25

Jake learns he's started having some pretty serious nightmares and wakes up screaming. He tries to send a message to Dave to give him an update. Jake and Monica venture through a new door where things are pretty darn cold; you might want to put a coat on for this one. This episode was written and produced by Alex C. Telander. The voice of Jake is performed by Chris Fletcher; the voice of Monica is performed by Georgia Mackenzie. All the music was composed by Chris Fletcher. Graphic design and artwork is done by Sara Warren. Sound effects are courtesy of the awesomely incredible people at the Freesound Project (www.freesound.org). This week’s podcast recommendation is the The White Vault (http://whitevault.libsyn.com/): Explore the far reaches of the world’s horrors in the audio drama podcast The White Vault. Follow the collected records of a repair team sent to Outpost Fristed in the vast white wastes of the Arctic Circle and unravel what lies waiting in the ice below. To say this show is chilling is not only a bad pun, but it actually makes the listener feel physically cold. What with the great sound effects and the emotion of the characters, you really get the sense that they’re in this frigid point almost at the top of the world. Plus, if you’re a fan of accents, you’ll get your share in this show with German, Italian, British and even Icelandic. So what are you waiting for? Finally, thanks for listening. Without you, there wouldn’t be any point in doing this podcast. So thank you and see you in two weeks with Episode 14: Voyager.

Ostium Files Teaser | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:02:33

Here are the first couple minutes of the premier of the Ostium files . . . When you made the decision to become a patron of the Ostium Podcast, you were assigned a number, a door unique to you. There was a reason for that. It is possible that Ostium has not always been abandoned, not always population zero. Perhaps at one time there were people - from the future? The past? - who traveled through the doors of Ostium to different places in time and space to learn and educate and record their experiences. Perhaps these recordings are still in existence . . . Welcome to . . . The Ostium Files. To the patron who entered through Door #25, this is your story. Written and produced by Alex C. Telander Performed by Ethan Connor Ireland Music composed by Chris Fletcher To get access to the Ostium Files and many other mini episodes and bonus content, support the Ostium Podcast via Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/ostiumpodcast) or through the Ostium website via Paypal (https://ostiumpodcast.com/support/) and choose your support door wisely. When you have chosen your door, you will be assigned a unique door number, which will one day become your very own . . . Ostium File.

 Episode 12 - Cultum Ossium | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:37:28

At the beginning of the episode, Monica unwinds a little after learning about some of Jake's choices in the previous episode. Jake has also started having nightmares. The dynamic duo venture through the next door and find themselves within a cave . . . a cave . . . of bones. Ostium will continue to be ad free thanks to our great and wonderful patrons who support the show through our website at www.ostiumpodcast.com/support, or through our Patreon page at www.patreon.com/ostiumpodcast. This week’s podcast recommendation is the Marsfall Podcast. Marsfall (http://marsfallpodcast.com/) is a new science-fiction series that follows the first colonists settling on the planet Mars. Led by their fearless commander Jacki O’Rania, and assisted by the colonial artificial intelligence unit ANDI, our colonists strive to make a home on the Red Planet while exploring its deeper mysteries. The recording values are great with this show. The characters feel real and believable, each with their own quirks and failings. Living on such a harsh planet is not easy in any way, and the show does a great job of showing this. But it’s also well balanced with humor, mostly thanks to Andy the quirky AI. Be sure to check it out. Finally, thanks for listening. Without you, there wouldn’t be any point in doing this podcast. So thank you and see you in two weeks with Episode 13: Anjikuni.

Episode 11 - A Crack in the Edge of the World, Part Two | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:43:38

Kicking off Ostium Season 2, in "Episode 11: A Crack in the Edge of the Word, Part Two," Jake and Monica find themselves back in Ostium where things are all kind of different . . . again. But it's not until they go on a little field trip that they learn what's REALLY happened to Ostium. This episode was written and produced by Alex C. Telander. The voice of Jake is performed by Chris Fletcher; the voice of Monica is performed by Georgia Mackenzie. All the music was composed by Chris Fletcher. Graphic design and artwork is done by Sara Warren. Ostium will continue to be ad free thanks to our great and wonderful patrons who support the show through our website at www.ostiumpodcast.com/support, or through our Patreon page at www.patreon.com/ostiumpodcast. This week’s podcast recommendation is the GONE podcast (http://gonepodcast.podbean.com/). The description alone is enough to hook anyone: There’s no way to plan for being alone. There’s no way to plan for what comes next. This is a story about what happens when the world goes dark, and everyone else is gone. The quality and sound is great, and the voice of the narrator - who is also the creator and writer for the show - is clear and very well acted. It’s one of those shows that just sucks you in right from the beginning with a compelling story and then you can’t stop listening because you don’t know where the story’s going to go next. GONE does have a Patreon page too, so once you gobbled up every episode, be sure to leave a review for the show or support them on Patreon. You could even do it while you’re choosing to support Ostium. You know: support two independent self-supported podcasts in one visit. Finally, thanks for listening. Without you, there wouldn’t be any point in doing this podcast. So thank you and see you in two weeks with Episode 12: Cultum Ossium.

 Ostium Season 1 Outtakes | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:11:27

You don't always get it right on the first take. And sometimes you don't get it right on the second, third, or fourth. Sometimes you say completely the wrong line, or something else that just makes no sense . . . but it's funny. And sometimes you start having conversations about what you're saying, which is also funny. Fortunately, things are digital now and we don't have to worry about how many reels of tape we're using. So lots more gets recorded. Most of it doesn't end up in the final cut. A lot of it is funny. Here are the choicest outtakes for Ostium Season One.
