 The Case for Heaven - Part 2 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

By his own admission, Lee Strobel was once a narcissistic, drunken, self-absorbed atheist. When his wife, Leslie, became a believer, he wanted a divorce. After two years of trying to disprove Christianity, the "Chicago Tribune" newspaper reporter was overwhelmed by the avalanche of evidence, and ultimately gave his life to the Lord. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Strobel continues discussing his new book and film, "The Case for Heaven", which takes a look at evidence of the afterlife and answers poignant questions concerning what happens when we leave this life. After having almost died, himself, 10 years ago, Strobel interviewed one of his heroes, evangelist Luis Palau, who was dying of stage four cancer at the time. Palau offered invaluable advice -, "No one will ever regret being courageous for Christ!"

 The Case for Heaven - Part 1 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

On today’s Family Talk, Christian apologist and scholar Lee Strobel discusses his new book and film, The Case for Heaven. In his conversation with Dr. Tim Clinton, Lee makes a strong argument for Heaven as a very real and viable place, and points to corroborated near-death experiences from several individuals, including a woman named Maria, who died of a heart attack. She described how her spirit separated from her body, which is consistent with God’s Word. Through Maria’s and other first-hand testimonials, Strobel offers a consistent narrative of hope and promise.

 You Are Not Alone - Part 2 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Tom and Dena Yohe assure hurting parents of children and teens in crisis that they are not alone. This mom and dad firmly believe that no matter what happens, you shouldn’t ever give up on your kids, and always trust in God! Throughout the Yohes’ heartache, God never abandoned them. After being in a revolving door of mental health therapy and in-patient care, Tom and Dena’s daughter moved back home where her parents established a tough-love, substance-free boundary. She was a prodigal daughter with destructive behaviors, but because her parents stuck together and provided unconditional grace with unshakable faith, the family was able to survive it all and help their daughter recover.

 You Are Not Alone - Part 1 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

As a child, Tom and Dena Yohe’s (pronounced “yoy” as in ‘joy’) daughter had a sensory processing disorder. In school she was bullied and, sadly, by age 12, started cutting herself. To numb her self-hatred and depression, she turned to alcohol and drugs. On today’s edition of Family Talk, the Yohes recount their heartache and desperation as their prodigal child spun out of control. Ironically, the cutting gave their daughter both a sense of release and control. Dena documents the emotional rollercoaster, the recovery, and their hope in God in her book, You’re Not Alone: Hope for Hurting Parents of Troubled Kids.

The Harbingers of Things To Come - Part 2 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

America has been the greatest of modern nations and a "city on the hill." But, on today’s edition of Family Talk, Messianic Jewish Rabbi Jonathan Cahn explains that as a sovereign nation, we have subsequently turned our back on God, and darkened the world with immorality, pornography, and gender confusion. The producer of the new film, "The Harbingers of Things To Come," Rabbi Cahn states that America needs to learn from ancient Israel which was judged by God for its disobedience.

The Harbingers of Things To Come - Part 1 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

When Rabbi Jonathan Cahn wrote his books, "The Harbinger" and "The Harbinger II: The Return", he was studying the signs of a nation in danger of judgment from running away from God. In a similar way to the Lord sending harbingers to ancient Israel in the last days before its destruction, Rabbi Cahn believes that God has been sending similar signs to America through the events of 9/11 and the COVID pandemic to warn us to repent before our destruction. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Rabbi Cahn, a Messianic Jew, discusses his new film entitled "The Harbingers of Things To Come," which takes a deeper look at his research on the harbingers in our country.

 Real Moms, Real Jesus - Part 2 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

Many Christians view Jesus as being completely God, but sometimes forget that He was also human. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Jill Savage shares why every mom can take comfort in the assurance that Jesus understands their exhaustion, disappointment, and vulnerabilities. Similar to how a mom has her sleep interrupted because her child is sick, when the disciples were startled by a great storm at sea, they woke Jesus after He had an exhausting day of ministry. Jill also explains to Dr. Dobson the need for people to define themselves by who Christ is, not what they may see or receive in other people. It’s also necessary for a mom to have a supportive and caring husband.

 Real Moms, Real Jesus - Part 1 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson is joined by author and speaker Jill Savage, who shares insights from her book, "Real Moms…Real Jesus: Meet the Friend Who Understands". Together they discuss Jill’s fundamental precept—that Jesus can be a relatable, identifiable source of strength in every busy mom’s life. Between nursing your infant to having your toddler mistake you for a jungle gym, it’s normal to long for some personal space. For Jesus in His ministry, the pressure from the crowd became equally overwhelming. Similar to the need to establish boundaries to ensure some down time, Jesus stepped away from ministry to be alone and pray.

The Role of Prayer in a Spiritual Awakening - Part 2 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

The greatest hindrance to the advancement of the gospel is the attempt by the Church to do the work of God apart from the power of God. That’s the assessment of Pastor David Platt. He adds that maybe the biggest barrier to spreading the good news is not the self-indulgent immorality of our culture, but our self-sufficient mentality within the Body of Christ. On today’s edition of Family Talk, the pastor of McLean Bible Church explains that the primary purpose of prayer is not to get something, but to know God and to understand that He works through willing intercessors.

The Role of Prayer in a Spiritual Awakening - Part 1 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, "Pray without ceasing." But according to David Platt, our church culture today is known for preaching, writing and passive listening, but not for prayer and fasting. Unless we take action, we are in danger of missing the whole point. On today’s edition of Family Talk, the pastor of McLean Bible Church in Washington D.C. shares the value of our prayers, in an address given at the 2019 National Day of Prayer. He explains how we see various characteristics of God when we fervently pray like Moses did in Exodus 32.
