Who loves Queen Sugar like Danielle loves Queen Sugar? No one! That's why when Danielle and Stephen had Tina Lifford on the show, Danielle tried her best to take over the conversation. But it didn't matter because Tina had her sights set on Stephen. Find out who Tina Lifford would Fuck, Love or Slap (instead of Fuck, Mary, Kill) and why her flirtation made Stephen nervous.
On this episode, Danielle and Stephen wax poetic (or whatever) about Tiny and T.I.'s divorce, figure out who Bernice Burgos is, all while equally hating on Tiny and T.I. Tyrese gives an encouraging word on treating your lady right. Stephen digs into the most violent displays of white supremacy this week and we're left wondering, what the heck is covfefe?!
White slavery is seen all up and through Hulu's "Handmaid's Tale" and it pisses Danielle and Stephen off because real slavery happened and white people want to ignore that. Danielle and Stephen talk about the dangers of binging slavery shows, why white slavery should be a thing and how the world hates black people. Rest in peace Richard Collins III.
Romphims are all over your social media feed and yes, we tackle the hot topic too! Danielle is wearing a romper and carries extra panties in her purse because sometimes, when you have to pee and you're wearing a romper, accidents happen. Stephen wants to talk about Oprah as an actress and we eventually reveal a new segment all around Stedman--stay tuned. The segment we intro on this episode, is The Gospel, According to Tyrese. And yes it's as good as it sounds. We love you and hate each other!
From Bow Wow's embarrassing fake Instagram stuntin' posts to Steve Harvey's condescending memo, we dig into celebrities' woops of the week and reveal just how bad they both fail at adulting. But guess what? A college student in Oklahoma quoted Stephen and Danielle and called them experts in the intersectionality of politics and petty. Life. Made.
And when they get on, they leave your ass for a white girl! Kanye West's prolific lyrics tell the tale of black men who make it to a certain level of success, who often leave black women for non-black women We talk about Jesse Williams hurting everyone everywhere with his Minka Kelly-kissing. We also hate on Ja Rule's Fyre Festival and so much more!
Shea Moisture, you messed up and to that, Black women say, "Sheeeiiiiiit!" Honestly, we just can't stop saying that because we had Mr. Sheeeeiiiiit on the show this week! Clay Davis aka Isiah Whitlock joined us to talk about his new role, in an animated film! What?! We also talk about Danielle's epic #BlackGirlMagic moment with Oprah, iconic Black voices and who would voice over our lives and more! Yes, Isiah says, "sheeeeiiiit" for us!
On this episode, Danielle and Stephen welcome "The Get Down"'s Shameik Moore who plays Shaolin Fantastic, a street-smart DJ who wants to take the music world by storm. Not only do we discuss "The Get Down"'s haters, but Shameik impresses us with his own musical knowledge and maturity at such a young age. He's 21! We talk all things hip hop, "The Get Down" and Shameik's reggae career. Before Shameik comes on, Stephen and Danielle talk about Prince, Charlie Murphy and how there best not be a "Coming to America" sequel.
On this episode, we have Bob Marley's youngest son, Damian Marley. And Stephen and Danielle manage to get along long enough to ask Marley about the California prison he purchased to convert to a pot farm, who's in his celebrity smoking circle and of course we asked about having Bob Marley as a dad!
On this exciting episode, Danielle and Stephen chat with Johnny Gill, who turns out to be one of the most hilarious interviews on the podcast. Gill talks about replacing Bobby Brown in New Edition and how he originally was to replace Ralph Tresvant and how he later formed a group with them. Danielle also tries to our Michael McDonald Johnny Gill and spoiler alert, she doesn't.
This week, Stephen and Danielle interview the legendary Mike Tyson, one of Stephen's heroes. The interview was awesomely awkward, which made Stephen and Danielle reminisce on some of their best and worst interviews, which allowed them to meet a few of their heroes. In the interview, Danielle gets Mike Tyson to do a bird call. It's as amazing as it sounds. Also, Tyrese is the worst.
This week, we sound even better as Danielle is in a real podcast studio and Stephen is under a blanket. This may be one of our most woke episodes as we chat with Harry Belafonte's daughter, Gina Belafonte and learn more about Harry's dope non-profit, Sankofa.org. We play a game with Gina, matching artists with activists and we even learn about her star-studded, woke childhood. Also, Gina is bae.
This week, Stephen and Danielle have no guest, just their hatred for each other. We start by hating that HBCU president got played by Trump, try to dig our way through Ben Carson's sunken place and somehow the conversation turns to Popeye's chicken, which then turns into Stephen and Danielle confessing their fat habits.
On this week's episode, Danielle and Stephen have Vanessa Bell Calloway on the show to talk about her show on Bounce TV, "Saints & Sinners," how black don't crack because she's about to be 60 and how much she hates liturgical dancers, despite Ms. Patti Patti's obsession with it. Danielle and Stephen also talk about Kellyanne Conway's disrespectful feet and ashy knees, Rachel Dolezal's new Nigerian name, Nicki Minaj's non-response to Shether and more.
On this episode, Danielle and Stephen welcome Lil Rel Howery from "Get Out" and The Carmichael Show. Stephen tries to tease him about his name, Danielle raves over "Get Out" and Lil Rel explains why his hilariously skeptical character attracted him to the role in "Get Out." We also talk racial microaggressions, interracial dating and if horror movies get Oscars. (They have before.) And in typical UV fashion, we play a game with Lil Rel--The Battle of the Lil's. PS--Go see "Get Out," for real!
