 Episode 106: SuperBrawl Revenge 2001 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:58:32

It was the final SuperBrawl of them all. February 18, 2001 and a little over a month before WCW would close down the doors, Scott Steiner met Kevin Nash for the WCW World Championship in a match in which the rules seemed to change every five minutes. There were some great moments, like an electric Six Man Elimination Match; Chavo Guerrero, Jr. against Rey Mysterio and Diamond Dallas Page having to fight through not one, but two opponents. Conrad and Tony take you back to WCW in 1991. The Gulf War was raging. Dusty Rhodes had returned as booker. The Clash had to be taken out of the CNN Center and moved to Gainesville, Georgia. This show had plenty: Ric Flair vs Scott Steiner, an arm wrestling contest between Paul Heyman and Missy Hyatt, and plenty of enhancement matches. Welcome to the Jim Herd era of WCW! This is DIXIE DYNAMITE!!!!  Episode 104: Survivor Series '96 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 03:07:29

While WCW was enjoying the momentum of Hulk Hogan turning heel and the advent of the NWO, the WWF was chugging right along with who would become the biggest superstar in the business (Stone Cold Steve Austin); a "blue chip" rookie (Rocky Maivia) and one of the true-great performers in the ring (Shawn Michaels). Join Conrad and Tony as they look back on a show that had a little bit of everything and a show that Conrad calls an underrated "gem." A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.  Tony plays "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel, the song that was playing the first time they slept together, on a boombox under Lois' open bedroom window. WAIT. NO THAT'S THE MOVIE.  But here on this 102nd episode of the podcast Tony Schiavone answers you questions as only he knows how. With honesty, passion and a whole lot of bullshit. So if you sent your Slapdick questions in on Twitter, you just might get them answered. Love? Yes! Relationships? Yes! Movies? Yes! Food? Yes! Weight Loss? Yes! Politics? HELL NO!  Episode 101: WCW Sin 2001 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 03:05:57

As World Championship Wrestling began it's final year, WCW Sin kicked off the Pay Per View schedule with a real cluster***k from Indianapolis.  It's a show best remembered for Sid Vicious' broken leg. but you'll best remember it for the beginning of end of the run of WCW. WHW 101 is complete with a Tony and Lois version of "Baby It's Cold Outside."  Episode 100: Starrcade 2000 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:59:47

It's the final Starrcade! (Yeah, we know it's now a WWE, house show-streaming-type-thing, but this is the last REAL one). And WCW went out with a fizzle. With the exception of the opening match (a great ladder match, by the way), it was not much going on. DDP and Kevin Nash did win the WCW Tag Team Championship and Big Papa Pump retained the WCW World Title by beating Sid Vicious, but mostly is was a "Christmas Miracle" WCW lasted as long as it did. And three months later WCW was..."a goodnight to all, and to all a goodnight!"  Episode 99: Starrcade '93 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:57:12

Many say it was Ric Flair's greatest moment. Everyone tuned in on December 27, 1993 to see not only Flair with one of his finest triumphs, but also to honor "The Man" during his biggest challenge; one on one against Vader. From the opening montage, to Flair leaving his home, to the match, to the emotional end, it was a wonderful tribute. And be sure to look not only for a young future Mrs. Thompson (Megan), but also a very young Charlotte Flair.  Episode 98: December to Dismember 2006 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:25:56

Was this the worst Pay Per View of all time? Well, it was branded as ECW, but with the exception of Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam, Joey Styles, Taz, Paul E. and an appearance by Sandman, it was everything but ECW. As a matter of fact, a case could be made that it was WWE burning the ECW brand once and for all. Sad, but probably true. Join Conrad and Tony as they cover the Elimination Cage that basically eliminated a loved wrestling product.  Episode 97: Starrcade '83 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 03:06:12

This is the one that has "stood the test of time." The very first Starrcade from Thanksgiving night 1983. It was before WrestleMania and became the flagship event of Jim Crockett Promotions and then WCW. It was not a Pay Per View event but was broadcast via closed circuit to many arenas in the then Mid-Atlantic area. Ric Flair vs Harley Race was the featured event, but the event had so much more. Including Roddy Piper and Greg Valentine in a Dog Collar Match; Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle on commentary, Abdullah the Butcher, Ricky Steamboat, the Brisco Brothers, Wahoo McDaniel; and then somewhere backstage a young, green Tony Schiavone. It was also the beginning of the run by Dusty Rhodes as booker of Jim Crockett Promotions. You like blood? You like realism? You like vintage pro wrestling?  Episode 96: ECW November to Remember 1997 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:49:25

Conrad loved them. Tony never watched them. But 21 years later Tony has fallen in love with the action and carnage that was ECW! ECW! ECW! We take you back to the time when Shane Douglas won the ECW Title in his own hometown with Francine by his side. Was this a good or a bad ECW Pay Per View? Most viewers back then seemed split on the decision, but as Tony says: "...give me Francine, the Dudleys and Tommy Dreamer and Beulah then what more do you want?"  Episode 95: Royal Rumble 1990 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:53:28

Conrad and Tony take you back to January 1990. It was the WWF Royal Rumble from Orlando featuring 30 top superstars and angles and issues heading to WrestleMania VI. It was also the event in which Tony found himself at the last minute behind the mic with Jesse "The Body" Ventura doing commentary. Orlando, Florida was the site and it was "Every Slapdick For Himself!"  Episode 94: Road Trip 2018 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:46:11

You may have been expecting Royal Rumble 1990, but that will come next week. This week, go on the road with Tony and Conrad as they drive from Nashville to Atlanta. If you hear a loud hissing noise then keep in mind most of it was Tony driving in a driving rain storm. But they survived and their conversation ranged from Hulk Hogan to Eric Bischoff to the current WWE product to Scott Steiner to Blew Chew. It also included a stop in Acworth, Georgia at the Shoney's to see if Big Papa Pump was in the house.  Episode 93: Halloween Havoc 1991-Chamber of Horrors | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:55:08

Tony and Conrad take you back in time to one of the most remembered a talked about PPV's ever. Halloween Havoc '91. The clusterf**k that featured the Chamber of Horrors where Abdullah the Butcher was electrocuted even though the throw switch kept falling even before the dirty deed. Oh, and watch out for the "refer-eye," a Jim Herd invention only superseded by the Godd**m Candyman.  Episode 92: WCW Thunder 04-22-1998 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:39:23

It's the episode where real-life intersected with pro wrestling, when on April 22, 1998, Marcus "Buff" Bagwell was seriously injured during a Ric Steiner bulldog from the top turnbuckle. What transpired was a complete shutdown of the show. It makes for a very interesting look behind the scenes at WCW. Join the guys as they relieve the moments of a very scary moment in pro wrestling and a close look at how the injury happened.
