CMS currently deducts 1% of all payments to the lowest 25% of hospitals who have the poorest ratings for Hospital Acquired Conditions (HAC). It's working to encourage hospitals to reduce errors, infections, and falls. I suggest we add AMP ( Assaults on Medical Providers) into the mix. Have a listen.

If you've been treated with lasix you will want to listen to this podcast. A potent diuretic, lasix can be very effective in helping doctors remove excess water from your body but too often too many patients are receiving excessive doses that can lead to renal failure.

Go to https://projects.propublica.org/docdollars to find out how many dinner talks your doctor gives for Pharma. Doctors are now getting paid as much as $4,000 for each brief talk and free dinner. Most of them realize that if they don't prescribe the drug, they are paid to discuss, they won't be invited back. It's a " Good Deal" for a doctor who likes money but a " Bad Deal" for their patients. Tell them you will find another physician and please post their names and how much they are paid on our "Real Medicine" Facebook Page.

Yesterday Brooklyn prosecutors charged Kristina Mirbabayeva as the ringleader in a $146 million dollar scheme that included paying indigent people to have tests they did not need and then laundering the money. Many others, including several doctors were involved. Our podcast highlights what occurred as well as another scam going on right now that the DA doesn't even talk about.

"Doctor" Dino Prato claims he can treat cancer and other serious illnesses when real and qualified physicians and nurses have failed. I think his claims are false and he preys on the sick, mentally ill, and dying so he can profit from their feeling of futility.
The story of my grandfather and so many others whose last few months of peace are interrupted by physicians and their assistants who prey on them and perform all types of procedure and exams for profit.

The New Times published results of the ORBITA trial this week and told us it was 'Unbelievable' that a patient who received a heart stent did no better than the patient treated with medications. When preparing for this podcast I noticed that the times made a major error by choosing the photo, which I display on FB, for their article. Does anyone recognize this major mistake? I wrote to Times and hope to hear back.

The experts have created the latest BP guidelines that include lots of changes. There seems to a great deal of self-congratulations but aren't they also admitting that they made mistakes in the past and put millions at risk?
