Jeanine Lebsack Jeanine is a special needs parent who advocates for mental health and autism spectrum disorder. In this episode, we talked about: Raising her sons, one with ADHD and ODD, and the other with autism and a rare genetic disorder called 16PL.2 Deletion Duplication Syndrome. Oppositional Defiant Disorder is a wiring in the brain that makes it impossible for the person to not win an argument and usually comes with angry outbursts. It is more behavioral, though. Sensory Processing Disorder (sensory integration disorder) (SPD) is a disorder where the ability to process sensory input is affected. How to self-regulate with SPD. Applying deep pressure to help her son with SPD. How she has dealt with SPD throughout her life and how it prepared her for her special needs parenting. A lot of mental illnesses like ADHD are hereditary. Brain wiring might make it difficult for communication or relation, but love shines through.
