 92: Get Off The Couch | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:08:12

Sometimes we give ourselves too much permission to sit on the couch of life and throw a pity party. Maybe you find that your deep conversations end up reciting past failures and disappointments? One of the greatest traps of doing HARD THINGS is the “Why Me?” trap. It’s a place where the enemy wants us to believe that God somehow actually gave us more than we could handle. He wants us to believe that instead of God being a good Father to us, we are left to depend on ourselves. The enemy tries to convince us that God is not a present Papa but rather a forgetful Father. That He is someone who likes to give us more than we can handle, only to watch and judge us for our lack of ability to follow through and do them well. It’s a lie that we can easily buy into! The enemy likes us to stay in our pit. He will try to get us to buy into any lie he can in order to keep us bound, never victorious, and always feeling defeated. The enemy knows that if he can get us to take these HARD THINGS as a personal assault from God, we will no longer believe that He is a good God but a lying and deceitful God, who likes to punish His people. If we believe this lie, we will stay in the pit and our inner lives become dark and cold without hope. –> You can connect with me online through all the social media links below Facebook: www.facebook.com/mrshavilah/ Twitter: twitter.com/mrshavilah Instagram: www.instagram.com/havilahcunnington/ –> You can also find lots of resources including books, Bible studies, online course and more at truthtotable.com.

90: The Mystery Remains with Bill Johnson | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:28:08

On this episode, Bill Johnson joins us in a fascinating discussion about life, faith and the supernatural. The power belongs to the believer to decide what we have in our world. We underestimate the power of permitting the enemy to steal and destroy. Havilah and Bill talk about how we often do not understand the struggles but faith is proven faith when the mystery remains.  89: A Positive No | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:17:54

On this week's podcast, we learn about the art of saying yes and no. If we say yes to everything, we aren’t saying “yes” to the things that matter most. Havilah outlines how to use positive “no’s” in our Intentional Boundaries series. A defense mode is when we sense a threat coming. Our brain automatically puts into motion into the 3 F’s category – Fight – Flight – Freeze A discovery mode is when our focus is to open up and to learn. It allows our mind to stay open to new possibilities, concepts and belief systems. The key is to stay in discovery mode! It’s important how we communicate our “no’s”. When we put other people in defense mode by our words, it actually doesn’t allow them to see our positive no. We want them to feel appreciated, valued and to keep them in discovery mode.  88: Overcoming Fear with Rebekah Lyons | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:31:47

In this podcast episode, I talk to my friend Rebekah Lyons about what it looks like to have a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. God is telling us that everything we have experienced in the past, whether that is depression, anxiety etc. is equipping is for what we were destined for. The measure of trial you have endured is the measure of hope you will offer the world. We would not have empathy to minister or authority of His power if we don’t experience it ourselves. The message of freedom comes from knowing what it feels like to be in bondage. In the midst of the struggle, we can feel so lost but God wants us to watch what He can do through the struggle. --> Find Rebekah Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rebekahlyons/ Website: https://rebekahlyons.com/ --> You can connect with me online through all the social media links below Facebook: www.facebook.com/mrshavilah/ Twitter: twitter.com/mrshavilah Instagram: www.instagram.com/havilahcunnington/ --> You can also find lots of resources including books, Bible studies, online course and more at truthtotable.com.

 87: Relationship Reality Check | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:25:17

Today on the podcast I want to talk to you about relationships, answers, and ghosting. I want to especially look at some of the dilemmas we face with romantic relationships. We can get frustrated with the reality that not responding is actually responding. No answer is an answer. Ouch! The Bible says “Hope deferred makes the heart sick” (Proverbs 13:12) which means when we put our hope in something that will change, oftentimes it can make our heart grow sick because we are living in two realities. We are living in the hope but also in reality. Instead, we have to realize that truth is our friend and we have to believe God will lead us into truth even when it doesn’t look the way we imagined it would. I hope this podcast encourages you today! Don’t let fear and anxiety be the driving force in your life! Keep your heart pure and pull back if you need to. Thank you for listening!  86: Stewarding Your Harvest | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:12:23

We reap what we sow and God loves to give great rewards. In this podcast episode, I talk about how fall is a season of promise, great harvest and stewardship. Fall is all about reaping what we’ve sown, it’s a season of promise. The physical evidence of our hard work from previous seasons materializes. It’s time to store up and give away. Everything we’ve hoped for is coming to pass and we begin to see it. It’s time to celebrate and it’s time for thanksgiving. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 NIV. I hope this encourages you today! Don’t worry, God will be faithful to you. He’s more committed to your success than you are.  85: How We Created Our Family Values | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:25:19

In this podcast episode, I want to share with you how we created our family values. I want to give you some tools that are working for us. This is not something I want you to idolize, it’s not a formula and it takes me a lot of effort to think about these things. Our family values: 1. Jesus is the center of our family. 2. Our family is a team, everyone counts. 3. We gather our family and friends around the table. 4. We are givers. We exist to give love and serve. 5. We value creating over consuming. 6. We steward our time, schedule and responsibilities. 7. We honor God by living healthy. 8. We live within our means and save for the future. 9. We value experiencing the world together and making lasting memories. 10. We live grateful lives by expressing thanks. I hope this helps you today! Keep going, you can even start today! Get your vision clear and spell it out. Figure out what works for you and do it!  84: Setting Healthy Boundaries | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:16:37

In this podcast episode, I am going to talk about setting healthy boundaries. Learning about healthy boundaries in my life set my world on fire in the best way possible. One of the biggest questions I get is “How do you do all that you do?” and my answer to that is “I don’t!”. But I do have very clear boundaries that allow me space to be me in a really crazy life. It’s no ones responsibility to know what they’re taking from you. You are the only one who knows whose taking from you and you need to be unashamed in your ability to say yes and no to fight for the things others will never know about. We can put a lot of blame on others for us being exhausted, overwhelmed and conflicted. Often we can expect others to put limits on us in order for us to say no. At the end of the day it’s no one else’s responsibility, we need to show up as adults and own our day and our responsibilities. --> You can connect with me online through all the social media links below Facebook: www.facebook.com/mrshavilah/ Twitter: twitter.com/mrshavilah Instagram: www.instagram.com/havilahcunnington/ --> You can also find lots of resources including books, Bible studies, online course and more at truthtotable.com.

 83: Summer Wrap Up | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:43:22

This summer has been one of the hardest summers for us as a family and as a community. In this podcast episode, I want to give you an update and a rundown of all the events that took place this summer. Often we can be distracted by what we assume is the “holy” thing to do that we miss what God is telling us to do personally. The gospel looks different on everybody. We need to do what he has called us to do instead of comparing ourselves to one another. If we all run to the same place other areas will be lacking. After all the events that took place this summer, I felt a Spirit if discouragement on myself because it wasn’t just “a bad day”. Sometimes we make excuses for not being ourselves when we actually need to legitimize that we’re not doing well and we need help. And what I’ve learned over the years is that in those moments I need to take a step back and look at what’s happening. Where did I get stuck emotionally, mentally, spiritually or physically? I learned to give myself empathy for my current situation without living with a victim mentality. This means going back to the basics. --> You can connect with me online through all the social media links below Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mrshavilah/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/mrshavilah Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/havilahcunnington/ --> You can also find lots of resources including books, Bible studies, online course and more at truthtotable.com.

 82: Overcoming Shame | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:11:55

In this episode, I talk about how shame is the result of sin. We can’t live on this earth without bumping into shame. Going our own way is called sin and sin ultimately leads to shame. The shame we feel can leave us feeling helpless and cause us to hide; condemning and discounting ourselves. But not all shame is bad! Why? Because shame can lead us back to God! It is an invitation and opportunity to reconnect with Him and to reach out to our Savior. The enemy wants to put your shame on display and then he wants to keep you there. The Father does the complete opposite; He covers you and then calls you back into the light and into His arms. When shame is experienced, we do not need to stay there and hide. Jesus’ sacrifice gave us the incredible gift of repentance. If we allow our shame to lead to lead us to repent, it can lead us back to Him. So come out of hiding and reconnect with Him.

 81: Find Your Tiger Hours | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:14:41

In this episode, I want to talk to you about your most productive moments, the hours in your day that you use to build your life on purpose, with clarity and passion. These are your tiger hours. They are those two - three hours a day that are your perfect work hours, where you get so much done! I know what it's like to have a busy life and I also know that I am not the only one. So let us steward those hours well, in order to be as productive as possible. That includes setting boundaries, prioritizing our time well and guarding those special hours. When are your tiger hours?  80: Navigating Conflict | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:17:41

In this episode, I talk about how we can navigate conflict well. Conflict is normal and sometimes we think without conflict we are peaceful people. It’s important to realize that we can’t resolve everything but we do have a part to play. Today I want to share some things with you that I use almost on a daily basis to resolve conflict and live through conflict. 1. You are fully responsible for yourself. 2. Use empathy and put yourself in someone else’s shoes for a minute. 3. Own up with what you have and ask yourself if you should have a conversation about it. What can you do without the other person participating? 4. Practice saying: “I am so sorry, will you please forgive me?” 5. Let it go and keep no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:5). 6. Come up with a plan and ask yourself the right questions. I hope this helps you today. Always ask the Lord to guide you. Let go of the things He is asking you to let go of and fight for the things He is asking you to fight for. “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” -James 1:19 (NIV)

 79: Sustaining Abundance | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:19:51

In this episode, I talk about how we grow and develop our lives especially when we find we are struggling and it feels like we are walking on water. What you are feeling today may not be directly linked to what you invested in today, prayed today or developed today. Everything is because of yesterday. The Bible is very clear that we will reap what we’ve sown, however, what we don’t often realize is that our harvest is directly linked to what we’ve sown long ago. Where are we sowing today in order to reap next year? How are you stewarding what God has given you so that you can double it by next year? What do you want to reap in 2019? It’s important to take ownership of the seeds we’ve been given to sow and steward them well because He wants to entrust more to us. Don’t be discouraged by the doing, step out in confidence and keep going because you are going to reap a great harvest in the future.
