About Lauren Green McAfee: As the granddaughter of founder David Green, Lauren Green McAfee has had a front row seat in watching the consistent, steady growth of America’s largest arts and crafts retailer, Hobby Lobby. She treasures the story and values of Hobby Lobby, and always wanted to work for this company that is much more than just a business to her. During her high school years, Lauren worked part time at the corporate office every summer. Her interest in business and the unique complexities that come from working in a family corporation drew her to the company. Lauren spent time working in different departments in order to gain experience of the various aspects of the company, including accounting, purchasing, and real estate, and working in the retail store layout and merchandising planning room. During her college years, she worked in the craft department of one of the retail stores managing inventory reorders and restocking items. After her undergraduate degree, Lauren worked for her father Steve Green as he founded Museum of the Bible. During her time at Museum of the Bible, she worked as Curator, Artifact Collection Manager, and Director of Community Engagement. Now, Lauren enjoys being back at Hobby Lobby working as Corporate Ambassador to promote company values, share company news, and encourage employees and customers. Lauren has a BA in Letters (History, Literature, and Philosophy) with a minor in Religious Studies from the University of Oklahoma, and a MA in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. About Maureen Kaderi: Maureen is married and speaks 5 languages. She married Oliver in 2013 & welcomed a beautiful son, Amaziah, in 2015. Maureen traveled to the United States in the summer of 2010 on behalf of Compassion International to speak to thousands of students at Student Life Camps. Her moving life story led to the sponsorship of more than a thousand impoverished children. Both Maureen and Oliver are beneficiaries of Compassion International. In March of 2010, ​blogger ​Kristen Welch traveled to Kenya, Africa, with Compassion International​,​ to blog their relief efforts in the slums of Nairobi. She was especially burdened visiting Mathare Valley, one of Africa’s largest slums.​ Maureen and Kristen connected during that trip and ​Maureen has since become a very dear “daughter” of the Welch family. Just weeks after returning from Africa, Kristen emailed Maureen and asked if she knew of any ministries reaching out or offering an alternative to the young girls having backstreet abortions. She didn’t know of any. Maureen partnered with Terrell and Kristen ​Welch ​to pray specifically about these precious girls. Four months later, God spoke to Maureen’s heart and birthed a vision to help these girls. When Maureen emailed Kristen with this news, both knew that God was beginning a good work. The Welch family lives in America and mobilize people to give with the help of supportive friends, family and blog readers. Maureen is in Kenya with the language, education, leadership skills and the heart to be the hands and feet of Jesus. In the summer of 2010, The Mercy Maternity House was formed to support the work Maureen does. Maureen is the full-time Executive Director of Rehema House (word for mercy in Swahili) in Kenya. While she works in Africa, the Welch family raises money and awareness while supporting Maureen and her staff. They also talk about mentorship and how having mentors and being mentors has marked each of their lives. About Brittany: Brittany Mullins is the Founder/Executive Director for Beneath The Skin. Beneath The Skin is a new nonprofit as the vision of its founder Brittany Mullins. Brittany has a strong desire to serve the fans of the music scene. The majority of these young adults/kids come from broken homes, therefore lacking love and guidance. They don’t feel accepted by their peers, are considered outcasts at school, etc. They then experience depression, anxiety, turn to self-harm to feel physically when emotionally they are numb, experience suicidal thoughts, and an inner brokenness of not being good enough. She had discovered that this need was great, 7 years ago during her first interaction with a fan. This young girl told Brittany her story of abandonment, self-harm, and drug abuse and Brittany knew something had to change.
