That's right, you get an extra batch of cynicism this week from your friendly neighborhood podcast team. Daily News columnist David Murphy chats with Phillies beat writers Matt Gelb and Matt Breen to take a look at the big talking points heading toward Clearwater. Yes there are still a few weeks until pitchers and catchers report, but it's hard to avoid thinking of spring with the city buried under two feet of snow. So if you're bored, or stranded at home because your street hasn't been plowed yet, or whatever, settle in for the next hour or so and enjoy. We'll be back later in the week for our regular show. I don't know what we'll be talking about yet, but as ever, we'll figure something out. Oh, and sorry for some of the microphone issues we had during this recording. They should be sorted out by the next time we're on air.

Murray said he didn't want it to blow up, but it of course did. How much is Murray himself to blame for the situation? Then it's on to the 76ers' hiring of Jerry Colangelo to be the team's new "chairman of basketball operations" - or, as Daily News columnist Marcus Hayes put it earlier this week, "Sam Hinkie's daddy." But was it really a demotion when Colangelo will be working from his current home in Arizona? And what were the real reasons for the move? There are a lot more than there might appear to be on the surface. Last up is the Temple football stadium situation, and mayor-elect Jim Kenney's remarks that caused the university to put the brakes on the development process. Is it the right way for the school to spend its money (which is also the students' money), and to an extent the taxpayers' money (including some taxpayers who didn't go to Temple)?
