Our standards are directly linked to our identity. Our identity is directly linked to our beliefs - more specifically - our beliefs about ourselves. Our beliefs about ourselves are formed from our childhoods, past experiences, past traumas, our culture, our religious or atheist upbringings, etc. Most people will live their entire lives based on a false identity. Philippians 2:13   "for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose." Today we talk about the ultimate gift - God’s imperishable crown. A crown of righteousness and abundance and LIFE and glory. James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. As a great philosopher Biggie once said, "Mo Money, Mo Problems." And frankly, he was right. God is an abundant gift giver, but often we're too wrapped up in the wrong things to notice the gifts in the first place! Like little kids on Christmas morning who unwrap countless gifts and just eventually just start tossing things over their shoulder - how many of God's incredible, precious gifts have we just tossed aside? And even if we do receive the gift we've been hoping for, if we don't change our heart, "grow up" and have emotional and spiritual discipline, will the gift even matter - or worse, be the cause of our downfall? Ask the majority of lottery winners. Multiplying God's gifts means we have to seek him first in all things, because if we don't then every precious gift will just turn into our eventual downfall. The gift ISN'T the actual gift. Galations 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. In week three of the Harvest series, Anna and Susannah talk about God's promise when we sow good seed in good soil. The bible tells us that in the proper time, we'll reap a harvest if we do not give up. How many of us quit before the finish line? Not this time! We sow. We grow. We reap. We harvest. This is our season, let's go get it! Ephesians 3:17-19 So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Growing is hard. It hurts. We keep pounding the Spiritual Ibprofren pills 4 at a time, even though the bottle says take 2, and we don't even care! That's how crazy and desperate growing makes us. It can also be the most incredible adventure we could ever imagine, but we have to have strong, deep roots. What does it mean to be rooted in Christ? What does it look like to grow? One of God's most obvious clues he's ready to take us to the next level is when he stops showering us with manna. Feeling hungry? Good! Today's podcast is for you.

Matthew 9:37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few."   In my best Oprah voice: This month we're talking about HAAAAAAAAAAAARVEEEEEST! It's time for harvest. Are you ready? Here's a tough question. What did you sow? If you sow a bunch of crap you're gonna reap a bunch of crap. That's pretty much it for today's podcast. Okay, well - it's actually much more intensive and enlightening than that - but let's start talking real. What are you sowing, really? The theme of sowing, reaping and harvest are a constant in the bible. This tells us the concept is important to God. We reap what we sow. Today's verse is from Jesus - he's talking about people willing to win hearts for Christ. We have a huge harvest of people who need God's precious love and salvation. But the workers are few. What kind of seed does God want you to sow? This might be the most important question you've ever asked.

Deuteronomy 28:13 13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.   This might seem like an interesting verse for a month talking about Spiritual Warfare, but as we wrap up this sometimes uncomfortable, but powerful month, it’s important we realize one very important truth as we go in to battle  – we have an incredible inheritance from God. And part of our inheritance? We have the POWER and the AUTHORITY to defeat the enemy. God will make us the head, not the tail. So many times we’re tempted to play victim in the midst of spiritual warfare. Downtrodden, tired, defeated – never catching a break, never happy, always so hopeless. But why? This week's episode wraps up a powerful month and digs deep into why trust is an essential if you want to win every single battle against the enemy. Enjoy!

But we aren't without hope. Far from it - the armor of God is our weapon.
