Central City Brewers + Distillers (Surrey, British Columbia) released a Canada-wide collaboration with 12 Canadian breweries. Each of the 12 collaboration beers is inspired by the province in which it comes from, and was brewed at Central City’s brewery in Surrey. In Ontario, this pack was split into two 6-packs (East, West) and sold at the LCBO for $14.95 / 6-pack. Beer List: Upper Reaches Pale Ale - Beau's All Natural Brewing Company / Central City Brewers + Distillers Bouclier Canadien Pilsner - Le Trou du Diable / Central City Brewers + Distillers Restored Hop(e) ESB - Picaroons Traditional Ales / Central City Brewers + Distillers "New" Scottish Ale - Garrison Brewing Company / Central City Brewers + Distillers Bière d’ici Honey Ale (Beer of Here) - PEI Brewing Company / Central City Brewers + Distillers Hop to the East Hefeweizen - Quidi Vidi Brewing Company / Central City Brewers + Distillers Show Notes: Microphones have a front and back - who knew! Tragically this pack sold out fairly quickly so it is no longer available for sale. However, Beau's All Natural Brewing Company did release their collaboration as a standalone bottle release (brewery/BYBO only). A beer soundboard? Which words should we include? Taralyn Carver is the director of The Brewery Market, an event series inspired by the tradition of farmer's markets. Show Notes: The Brewery Market launched in Ottawa (at a parking lot in Hintonburg) back in October 2012. It is a spin off of Toronto's Brewer's Backyard which was started in the spring of 2012 and is hosted at The Evergreen Brick Works. A big trend of 2017 for breweries is re-branding (besides expansion). Join the no-fuss beer experience with The Brewery Market on Canada Day 2017 (9 breweries - beer in a park!). New to this year's Brewery Market is collaborative events which has The Brewery Market pair up with events like Taste of Wellington or House of Paint. The Brewery Market is a non-profit volunteer organization. This year they are supporting the Parkdale Food Centre. New for 2017 is the half pour (for us beer fans who want to try more!). Hey, Flying Canoe - come out to a Brewery Market! Always remember - Ghost Orchid.
Darren Smith is the President of Lake of Bays Brewing Company, located in Bayswater, Ontario. The brewery opened in 2010 and has recently gone through a rebrand of its label, packaging design and also launched three new core beers.

The Brewery Market kicked off its 2017 season with a VIP Launch Party at the Great Canadian Theatre Company. This season of events are across the city and highlight different areas and events (including Canada Day).
Staring at the wall of beer can be intimidating! How do you find out about new beer? How do you search for beer? Here are some tips and tricks on how to get the latest and greatest fresh beer without having to go LCBO hopping.
Spring has finally hit Ottawa! Here are four beers that have recently hit the LCBO, grocery store and local beer taps that Katy and Chuck recommend for your next BBQ or patio session.
Great Lakes Brewery was founded in Brampton, Ontario in 1987. They produced two beers using malt extract that were packaged in 1-litre plastic bottles. In 1990 they made the switch to all-grain brewing and a year later moved the brewery to its current location off the Queen Elizabeth Way in Etobicoke, Ontario.
Amsterdam Brewing Company was founded in Toronto, Ontario in 1986. They have since completed a series of moves and expansions which included acquiring Kawartha Lakes Brewing and opening a Brewpub on Toronto's waterfront. Amsterdam's Adventure Brew Series is only available for purchase in bottle at the brewery's retail locations and on draught at better restaurants and pubs.
