Foyeurism Episode 1 - The Death of Ocean View Park | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:29:35

The Scream Addicts lineup continues to expand! In addition to the flagship show and Hammer Pub, we’re now introducing a brand new, monthly series which will find your stalwart host Jinx at the mercy of notorious schlock jock Scott Foy as they tackle a single movie of Foy’s choosing. Rest assured, these are not your normal horror films.  Each episodes free-wheelin' discussion will focus on a cinematic oddity of Foy's choosing that's shock or schlock value, possibly both, warrants merit even if this film itself does not fall into the traditional realm of film criticims. Movies whose strengths are their weakness and weakness are their strengths. Prepare to peer into the funhouse mirror of filmdom and see them through the warped eyes of FOYEURISM. For our first episode, we buy two tickets to watch an amusement park go down in flames thanks to matters of the unexplained in the genre-bending 1979 made-to-television thriller THE DEATH OF OCEAN VIEW PARK. The tried and true tropes of Seventies-style disaster, supernatural, and Love Boat quality romantic dramedy collide in a one-of-a-kind oddball opus that includes a pregnant psychic woman witnessing premonitions of doom, romantic subplots that are wrong on so many levels, Martin Landau rocking the finest fashions straight out of the 1979 Sears catalogue, and a climax that is as bonkers as it is impressive, culminating with the demolition of an actual full-scale rollercoaster. It's a bizarre little slice of polyester era made-for-TV mayhem that has mostly fallen through the cracks, but here we are to crack this thing wide open for your entertainment. It’s another crazy side project for Scream Addicts that we’re hoping you’ll love! Kicking off with a deep dive into the film’s shallow plot, the trio attack the film’s scant story elements, the dodgy writing and thing characters, and its absolutely bonkers ending.  Afterwards, Foy puts forth an interesting theory about the film’s place in slasher film history, back up with a list of tropes from that very subgenre! After the main chat, the guys continue on chatting about such things as long movie runtimes, Lawnmower Man 2, the current state of the theatre industry, and…Freejack?!
