 Ep. 66 | March 9, 2016: Real, comfortable baseball | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:04:43

Baseball is BACK! Kind of! The games may not mean anything, but the position battles and scorching hot takes on country club atmospheres from Troy Tulowitzki sure do. This week, we dive inside the early returns from prospects and veterans alike at Rockies camp in Scottsdale. Who's primed to take the shortstop position? What does this young group of pitching prospects look like? What will the Rockies' starting nine on Opening Day be? What REALLY happened to Babushka Lady that fateful day in Dallas? Plus a look at other things throughout the baseball world which mostly involve us discussing which of the Cactus League ballparks we like the most. It's the Purple Dinosaur Podcast! Back and better than ever!

 Ep. 65 | Feb. 18, 2016: Toxic Assets | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 59:45

It's hard to build a winner in baseball at altitude. Did you know that? Have you ever heard that truism? Have you felt beaten over the head with it for your entire life? You HAVE, have you? Well do we have a show for you. The outstanding Mike Petriello of MLB.com joins the Jason Gurka edition of the Purple Dinosaur Podcast to discuss the reality of the "Coors Field Effect" and how it's possible (really!) to play successful baseball in Denver. Listen to Mike. He's way smarter than we are. Plus Anthony and Tyler discuss MLB Advanced Media's class action lawsuit settlement regarding broadcast rights and what that means for in-market streaming and you, the still-lingering Jose Reyes situation, and much more.

 Ep. 64: Jan. 29, 2016 - Godspeed, #Dickmania | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 47:23

Corey Dickerson is gone, you guys. Traded Thursday for (would you believe it?) a Schlotzky's sandwich and a handful of Enron stock. SMDH. Oh wait no, left-handed reliever Jake McGee and minor league starting prospect German Marquez (who is not German, just FYI). The initial reaction to this trade is basically that the sky has already fallen and life is a willful and yet empty pursuit of nothingness. We'll try to calm that down a bit with some numbers that suggest maybe the Rockies aren't quite as different a team minus C-Dick as you think. Plus...well no, that's really about it for this episode. But the PDP returns to its weekly schedule soon with pitchers and catchers just weeks from reporting to Arizona. Catch the fever!

 Ep. 63: Jan. 15, 2016 - Spleens and Whiskey | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:25:11

Top Rockies outfield prospect David Dahl joins the first PDP of 2016 to discuss his splenectomy, his strong finish to the 2015 season after his return, his rooting interests in the college football national title game, and more. Then, Anthony and Tyler go off radar with a viewing of the 13th inning of the 2007 National League Wild Card Tiebreaker from beginning to end. We loved it. Maybe you'll hate it. SPOILER: The Rockies won, and we felt happiness for a moment.

 Ep. 62: Dec. 10, 2015 - The Hiatus Is Over | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:10:43

The Purple Dinosaur Podcast returns to bring you holiday cheer! Just kidding, the D-backs are building a rotation Death Star, and every other team is better than your team. We discuss. Plus Anthony and Tyler take you through their crazy last two months, field your #AskPDP questions, discuss potential landing spots for Carlos Gonzalez, and much more.

 Ep. 61: October 9, 2015 - The Postmortem | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:12:32

The PDP returns from binge-drinking away the end of the Rockies season to dissect the return of Walt Weiss and more. Does the Rockies skipper's 2016 assurance really mean anything? Did you know that Google Translate says that "Weiss" in German translates to "Knows?" Did you weiss that? Plus we'll dive into Nolan Arenado's prospects for a top-5/top-10 finish in NL Most Valuable Player voting. Our 61st episode also includes a discussion with Bruce "Old Hoss" Foster about Civil War-era baseball reenactments in Denver and Connor Farrell of Rox Pile on who's the Rockies' leader in handsome heading into 2016 and who would contest his World Series of Hate.

 Ep. 60: Sept. 18, 2015: Embracing De La Rosa's Stardom | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 44:55

We come to you, loyal listener(s), with a simple query: is Jorge De La Rosa the greatest pitcher in Rockies history? We debate inside #PDP60. Plus a discussion of Tyler Chatwood's return from Tommy John surgery with another rehab start this week, the Asheville Tourists' successful 2015 and news on David Dahl who is officially headed to the Arizona Fall League.

 Ep. 59 | Sept. 13, 2015: Playing Out the String | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:01:19

The best part of #PDP59 is when we talk about how Tulo hasn't missed any significant time all season. Recorded on Friday, he was injured within 24 hours. With not a whole lot to talk about, we dive into CarGo and Nolan's ridiculous second halves and compare it to other great historical runs by Rockies players and others. Plus we talk about what this stretch could mean for the Rockies' offseason. We're taking your #AskPDP questions, as well! Wondering about destinations to go in Denver when you attend a Rockies game or Nigerian democracy? We've got it all covered

 Ep. 56 | August 14, 2015: Pitch Stupid | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:08:46

Former Rockies pitcher Jason Hirsh, now of ROOT Sports, joins the 56th edition of the PDP to break down some of the major storylines in Rockies pitching. What's behind Eddie Butler's struggles? What's with Jon Gray's pitch limit? Just how good does Gray have the potential to be? Are the Rockies choosing a new path in their organizational pitching philosophy? We tackle that and more in an arduous interview that took us two days to complete. Plus Anthony and Tyler discuss other Rockies-related things, we're sure. That's usually what goes on this podcast. Intro and outro music this week from The Knew! Check them out at theknew.bandcamp.com.

 Ep. 55 | August 8, 2015: Gray Day Cometh | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:13:44

Finally. Finally. FINALLY. Jon Gray has arrived with your Colorado Rockies. We'll break down the rookie's Major League debut as well as what the rest of his season could look like for the Rockies. Also on tap this week, a discussion of Kyle Parker's first week back in the big leagues, a recap of how the three pitching prospects the Rockies acquired in the Troy Tulowitzki deal are performing, and a lengthy conversation with Chris Jackson of the Albuquerque Examiner about some of this season's highlights and biggest storylines with the Isotopes.

 Ep. 54 | July 31, 2015: Welp...that was a letdown | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 34:41

The 54th episode of the Purple Dinosaur Podcast is a short one because the Rockies did nothing at MLB's non-waiver trade deadline. We'll attempt to explain why and give you an idea of moves that could still be on the way.

 PDP Special Edition | July 28, 2015: Tulowitzk-eh? | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 58:56

WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Troy Tulowitzki is gone, and in return, the Rockies got a bunch of prospects you've probably never heard of (and Jose Reyes). We'll break down the deal, our thoughts on it, what you can expect from these prospects and more. Mike Ferrin of MLB Network Radio joins this special edition of the show to discuss the trade from a national standpoint including what the Rockies received, what it means for the Jeff Bridich administration, and what Jeff Passan's Tuesday for Yahoo! Sports says about the Rockies' front office. Just breathe. Everything's going to be fine. We promise.

 Ep. 53 | July 23, 2015: Nine Innings with Hochman | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:10:27

Benjamin Hochman returns to the PDP to talk about his outstanding "Nine Innings" series for The Denver Post. We'll discuss Hooch's most recent story on former Denver Zephyrs slugger Joey Meyer's monstrous home run at Mile High Stadium and much more. Plus we dive into an interesting topic inspired by a conversation Anthony had with Pete Rose: could a player/manager work in today's MLB? And if so, which Rockies player could fit the bill?

 Ep. 52 | July 17, 2015: Anthony's All-Star Odyssey | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 49:24

Our hero returns from his sojourn to Cincinnati for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game, and he's here to tell you all about it. We'll discuss harrowing tales of Anthony taking creepshots of Raimel Tapia from his seat in the outfield during the Futures Game. We'll hear electrifying yarns about the weather that almost killed Anthony and the rest of the Queen City (that's actually not too far from the truth). And we'll discuss the 2015 Home Run Derby and All-Star Game which were both awesome. Plus this week we bring you a conversation with our good pal Bryan Kilpatrick of Purple Row previewing the back half of the 2015 season. What will the Rockies do at the trade deadline? Anything would be an upgrade on nothing which has been the organization's philosophy for the last 15 years.

 Ep. 51 | July 10, 2015: #Tulo and Luther Hackman | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:08:42

We're back! After a holiday hiatus, the PDP returns with Baseball Prospectus swing guru Ryan Parker. We'll talk Raimel Tapia, David Dahl, Forrest Wall, the problem with hitting at Coors Field, and much more. Plus the Rockies make a push to get Troy Tulowitzki to the All-Star game, and we discuss Nick Groke's latest story on the team's feelings regarding Jon Gray still kicking around Triple-A.
