In this solo show, and very much inspired by last month’s chat with Antonio Rosario about the railway photographer O. Winston Link, Bart digs a little deeper into the whys and the hows of railway photography. The first part of the show explores the differences between thinking about shooting railways as opposed to trains, with the hope of inspiring you to have a go. Following on from that, the second part gives some practical tips that might help you convert your inspiration into great images. Listen, subscribe, and get the show notes at lets-talk.ie/ltp92. This month Antonio turns the tables on Bart, interviewing him about one if his favourite photographers, O. Winston Link. Link was a commercial professional commercial photographer by day, but a dedicated amateur railway photographer by night (literally!).
This month Bart is joined by keen photographer and videographer Wally Cherwinsky. We all strive to come home with interesting photos, and Wally has an unusual suggestion to help you get there — think like a videographer. In this solo show Bart lays out the 12 reasons he believes phones in cameras have gone from pathetic jokes to amazing photographic tools. 2020 is the first year that Bart took 100% of his 'keepers' on his phone, and didn't fire the shutter on his DSLR even once! This is another instalment in the series-within-a-series where Bart invites photographers he respects to evangelise photographers they respect. The sky is the limit, guests can choose any photographer who's been active at any time between the invention of photography and the present day. Jeff chose to share his love for Olivia Parker's work, a photographer who has been active since the 1970s, and is still active today. You can see her work at http://www.oliviaparker.com.
This month's show is best described as an un-expected part two for last month's show.
