Our guest this morning was Jere Gettle, who is one of the movers and shakers behind the National Heirloom Exposition -- the fourth annual event behind held this Tuesday through Thursday at the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds. This event has been enormously successful, attracting a veritable who's who of the "Pure Food" movement. Jere is also a founder of Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, who expanded into Petaluma a few years ago and now run the iconic "Seed Bank" in Petaluma.

Our guest this morning was Susan Lendroth, author of an innovative and cute book for children and adults alike: Old Manhattan Had Some Farms: E-I-E-I-Grow. This book basically encourages people to grow food wherever they can; in window boxes, on rooftops, along sidewalks, and so on. Chock full of creative ideas, and set to a familiar nursery rhyme meter, it's a unique gardening gem!
