Adventure Travel – Podcast chat with Chris Ball from Adventure Honey | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:11

We had heard a lot about Chris Ball through a mutual friend. And then we met him at #SoMeT13AU We enjoyed hearing his story and his passion for travel and adventure so asked if he'd love to chat with us on our travel podcast. Chris is the founder of Adventure Honey, a place that connects travellers with local adventure tour operators in Thailand. I was inspired by his love for adventure and his desire to help those in poverty. Chris started his travels after realizing his heart was not fully in his corporate career. He decided to follow his heart and hit the travel adventure road instead. When you have adventures like cycling along the Rhine river in Europe and kayaking the dead sea which finished with Israeli soldiers putting guns at your head, you could say he made the right decision! Listen to hear: Tips for making your travels adventurous How to overcome your fear of travel Why you should just get started Wisdom such as "Getting out of your comfort zone is where you learn so much about yourself" Why you should spend to leave a positive impact The story behind Adventure Honey, how it can help you as a traveller and the positive impact it is having on local communities.  Connect with Chris and Adventure Honey Website: Adventure Honey Facebook:  Twitter Don’t forget to subscribe to our podcast so you don’t miss another inspiring interview.

How to Use Instagram Like a Rock Star – interview with Lauren Bath | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:04

Want to know how to use Instagram like a rock star? I think I had only been with Lauren Bath for a few hours on our T-Qual tick race back in March when I knew I wanted to interview her on our travel podcast. I knew who she was as I followed her on Instagram. Her photos were amazing and I assumed that she must have edited the bejeezus out of them. No one could take such great photos straight up. Wrong! Trust me, I scrutinized her for 8 whole days on our trip. She does very little editing through Snapseed. Basically, what you see is what she has shot as she sees it through the frame. It wasn't really her photography, or her 270,000 Instagram followers that had me pumped up to interview her, it was her passion for what she does, her story, and her generous nature. Lauren loves this new travel photography world she has created quite by accident, and will sit with you for hours just to show you how you can embrace photography and kick ass at it. She's seriously a rock star person. You don't want to miss this podcast chat. Listen to hear: How she went from chef to photographer through instagram. Simple photography tips. How to take perfect sunrise and sunset photos. Best equipment to use. How to rock on Instagram!  Travel Podcast – Are you trying to pursue happiness? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:09

Do you feel like happiness is an endless pursuit? It's always out there and the more you run towards it, the more you seem to stumble? It seems we are always told the goal in life is to reach happiness. But is it? Are we killing our own chance at finding it with the eternal pursuit? We spoke the other day of the idea that travel as a form of escapism is a smart idea. It's a running to a life that leaves behind all the doubts, worries, regrets and hopes and places you right in the now. Why do you think travellers seem such a happy bunch? On this weeks travel podcast interview I chat with Britt Reints, founder of In Pursuit of Happiness. Miss Britt is obsessed with the idea of happiness, she discovered what happiness really means through a process of reinvention and through her travels across the USA with her family in an RV. She also shares her happiness wisdom in her book, An Amateur's Guide to the Pursuit of Happiness. Here's one of my favourite quotes from the book: It's an enlightening chat and I had goosies many times as I heard Britt speaking the wisdom and beliefs of my own heart. I love this stuff - it makes me so happy! Click play to hear: How to find happiness What does the pursuit of happiness mean for our other emotions? Will we no longer feel sadness? How to survive in a small RV with two kids How travel contributed to her sense of happiness How to integrate back into society once the travel is over How to connect with Miss Britt: Website Book: An amateur's guide to the pursuit of happiness Twitter Facebook You can read more of my ideas on how we are confusing happiness and peace here

Podcast interview with Jo Castro from ZigaZag | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:46

There are so many people who have managed to create a lifestyle of travel that most people dream about. The problem is that most people stop at the dreaming without realizing they actually can create the same for themselves. You can. I want you to believe that. This week's podcast intervew with Johanna Castro from ZigaZag.com will help you to see how you really can create a life of travel. You just have to take the first step. And you really do not have to know what is waiting for you with each step after. As Jo said, Every person we have interviewed on our podcast has said the same thing, "I had this burning desire to explore, I didn't know what I was doing, I didn't really have much money, but I just went and I'm still going." Yes, years later they are still going. Look at us, 15 years after taking the first step, we're still making travel a lifestyle. But, let's forget about us, let's listen to Jo who has been travelling for over 25 years. Yep, and with 2 children as well. Jo is an extraordinary woman who inspires me to continue this travel life of ours. I love listening to her stories and taking on board her wisdom. She has a kind and generous soul and I simply adore her. It was during this interview that I finally felt at peace with the decision to travel with our children. Jo's two children are now adults, but spent their whole life traveling with Jo and her husband. They went to 9 schools around the world. Were there challenges? Of course, but no more than you'll find in real life. I love how Jo said, "To understand the benefits, you need to know the losses." Such beautiful wisdom. And when you hear Jo explain the benefits travel has brought to her children and their family life you won't care about those challenges, you'll be packing your bags today. Oh, she gives you some awesome tips to ensure the process is a valuable one. Jo has worked around the world, lived around the world, and has a gypsy heart. She is currently based in Bunbury Western Australia and is passionate about sharing the beauty of this small town with the rest of the world. This is one podcast interview you don't want to miss. Jo will show you how a lifetime of travel is not as difficult as you think and one that is well worth pursing.
