We had heard a lot about Chris Ball through a mutual friend. And then we met him at #SoMeT13AU We enjoyed hearing his story and his passion for travel and adventure so asked if he'd love to chat with us on our travel podcast. Chris is the founder of Adventure Honey, a place that connects travellers with local adventure tour operators in Thailand. I was inspired by his love for adventure and his desire to help those in poverty. Chris started his travels after realizing his heart was not fully in his corporate career. He decided to follow his heart and hit the travel adventure road instead. When you have adventures like cycling along the Rhine river in Europe and kayaking the dead sea which finished with Israeli soldiers putting guns at your head, you could say he made the right decision! Want to know how to use Instagram like a rock star? I think I had only been with Lauren Bath for a few hours on our T-Qual tick race back in March when I knew I wanted to interview her on our travel podcast. I knew who she was as I followed her on Instagram. Her photos were amazing and I assumed that she must have edited the bejeezus out of them. No one could take such great photos straight up. Wrong! Trust me, I scrutinized her for 8 whole days on our trip. She does very little editing through Snapseed. Basically, what you see is what she has shot as she sees it through the frame. It wasn't really her photography, or her 270,000 Instagram followers that had me pumped up to interview her, it was her passion for what she does, her story, and her generous nature. Lauren loves this new travel photography world she has created quite by accident, and will sit with you for hours just to show you how you can embrace photography and kick ass at it. There are so many people who have managed to create a lifestyle of travel that most people dream about. The problem is that most people stop at the dreaming without realizing they actually can create the same for themselves. You can. I want you to believe that. This week's podcast intervew with Johanna Castro from ZigaZag.com will help you to see how you really can create a life of travel. You just have to take the first step. And you really do not have to know what is waiting for you with each step after. As Jo said, Every person we have interviewed on our podcast has said the same thing, "I had this burning desire to explore, I didn't know what I was doing, I didn't really have much money, but I just went and I'm still going." Jo is an extraordinary woman who inspires me to continue this travel life of ours. I love listening to her stories and taking on board her wisdom. She has a kind and generous soul and I simply adore her. It was during this interview that I finally felt at peace with the decision to travel with our children. Jo's two children are now adults, but spent their whole life traveling with Jo and her husband. They went to 9 schools around the world. Were there challenges? Of course, but no more than you'll find in real life. I love how Jo said, "To understand the benefits, you need to know the losses." Such beautiful wisdom. And when you hear Jo explain the benefits travel has brought to her children and their family life you won't care about those challenges, you'll be packing your bags today. Oh, she gives you some awesome tips to ensure the process is a valuable one. Jo has worked around the world, lived around the world, and has a gypsy heart. She is currently based in Bunbury Western Australia and is passionate about sharing the beauty of this small town with the rest of the world. This is one podcast interview you don't want to miss.
