Feeling good today. Weight remained the same as yesterday so overall weight loss still at 6.6 Kg (14 1/2 pounds). Starting walking again today after week or so break and the walk felt easy and I was at a faster pace than previously.
Tim here with my day 28 keto diet update. My weight is down .7Kg (1.5 pounds) today. Bringing total weight loss to 6.6 Kgs (14 1/2 pounds) since I started. Yes I am happy that the weight gain from two days ago has been well and truly erased! I have a few things to discuss today, one is possible reasons for the weight gain (outside of the fact that it is relatively normal to loss, gain and plateau at various stages whilst following a ketogenic diet. I also discuss how a calorie is not necessarily a calorie, or rather the impact some might have.
Hello everyone, My Keto journey continues with a .4 Kg weight loss today (about 9/10's of a pound). Total weight loss to date: 5.9Kg (13 pounds). After yesterdays scare (weight gain of .7Kg - 1.5 pounds) I was pleased to see the reduction kick in. In this video I talk more about myfitnesspal.com which I am really going to suggest you look into. I really wish now that I had been using this since day 1, so if you are reading this I suggest you watch the video above and sign up immediately to my fitness pro and get cracking. It's great having that level of control on exactly what you are eating and of course the calories consumed and your macro's. e.g. Fat, Carbs and protein. Highly recommended!
Hi again, Day 26 and Darn Keto - I am up by .7Kg (1.5 pound) since yesterday. Total weight loss is now 5.5 Kg (just over 12 pounds). In todays video I discuss reasons for weight gain on keto and talk about a few websites than can be useful for you to be checking your calories in as well as macro's (percentages of fat/protein and carbs). The tracking site that most keto users seem to recommend is this one: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ But bear in mind it is not specifically configured towards Keto, rather its a general website for weight loss/calorie counting. As such it needs to be configured for Keto. Hi, Tim here with my day 24 update. Weight remained the same today, still at a total weight loss of 5.8Kg (12 2/10's of a pound). In todays video I explore the China Study, a study and subsequent book released by Dr T Colin Campbell based on a large nutrition study. I discuss some information that debunks this study to a degree, but I also make the point I am not necessarily against Vegan, but my points are:) 1) Keto shares characteristics of the China Study like lots of vegetables are good and high carbs from non "natural" e.g. man made foods are bad. 2) Grouping all animal products as being bad is a little naive. 3) The studies when peer reviewed show NO relationship to the diseases they claim. Bottom line: The China Study is anti low-carb but fails to provide the scientific evidence of why. I am not ANTI VEGAN, but it seems The China Study is very much Anti Low Carbs. Lets agree to disagree :) Theory is NOT fact. For historical evidence of this, refer to Ancel Keys who in the 1950's told us high fat intake was the cause of heart disease. He did this by manipulating the statistics and omitting data from countries that did not "confirm" his data. Please make sure you take the time to do your own research on this before assuming someone is correct irrespective of their "standings" in the community, or how passionate they may be.
Yes I am back with Day 23, and still feeling good. Since yesterday's weight in I am down .3 Kg (about 6/10's of a pound) bringing my total weight loss to 5.8 Kg (12 8/10's of a pound) since I started 23 days ago. Today I talk a little bit about how I am feeling, the joys of no cravings and a discussion about a future low carb recipe. Enjoy!
Hey there, Tim back with day 22 - Weight loss was .1Kg (about 2/10's of a pound) since yesterday's weigh in. Total weight loss is now 5.5 Kg (12 and a bit pounds). Hello, and here I am with my day 21 update. Yes 3 weeks ago to the day I started my keto journey, and I am a much better person for it. Today I gained .5 Kgs (1 and 1/10 of a pound). I discuss this in the video along with dealing with critics/well meaning but un-informed people who claim that low carb is unhealthy for you. Keto is a low carb diet that really works! Hi, Tim here with my day 20 update. My weight was reduced by .1Kg (about 2/10's of a pound) since yesterdays weigh in, bringing my total weight loss to 5.9Kg (13 pounds). In todays video I talk about Intermittent Fasting (IM) and also cauliflower mash, which is a nice "potato mash" substitute for keto/low carb folk. Tim here with my day 19 update. Happy to report I lost another .5Kgs (1 and 1/10th of a pound) since yesterdays weigh in. Total weight loss to date is now 5.8 Kg (12 8/10's of a pound). In the video I talk about the long term effects of a ketogenic diet with obese patients. I reference a government study dating back to 2004 which pretty conclusively shows how well a ketogenic diet worked, not only in weight loss but also in reducing cholesterol. Hello everyone, Here I am with my day 17 update. I can report a weight loss of .5 Kgs (1 1/10 of a pound today), so very happy with that. My total weight loss all up is now 4.9 Kgs (close to 11 pounds). Hello everyone, Today is day 16 and I am down .3 Kgs (around 2/3's of a pound). Total weight loss is now 4.4 Kg (9 7/10's of a pound). Went out and purchased some ketostix today to test for traces of ketones, this video discusses this in more detail. Here is a link on Amazon to grab some of these Ketostix.
