 Episode 257 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:13:51

It’s summer time! Woohoo! Not that the sun is omni-present, as it gets beaten by the rain more often than not. but fear not, for the following divine (or demonic, however you consider them) may help get you through this dull period. If you’re in need of a stress reliever, then Outliar will help you. Need to warm yourself? Burning Point is near, while Wild Hunt will present you with new experiences. Arjen Lucassen, known from Ayreon and more, brilliantly mixes old and new, while Shining can be of assistance if you’re not feeling too happy. Or if you are too happy for your own liking. Rest assured, the Nautikal Doomsters from Ahab are the providers of deliverance. Latitudes leaves vocals for what they are, in the antechamber… or not. Powerful deadly Metal can be expected from Miseration. The Canadians from Sorcier des Glaces were previously featured in January. Still, amongst all this dark, evil and hot material, it always nice to add a humourous note by the lads of Tenacious D. As always, enjoy this new delivery and have a great summer! Cheers!  Episode 256 – Luxemburg | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 0:58:45

Time to travel again. This time we visit Luxembourg. A small country, but it does have a Metal scene, no matter how small or big. Of course, we have played some Luxembourgian Metal in the past and those bands are featured in this Nation Special again, also because our collections hold only very few bands from that area and because many releases just aren’t as wide-spread as the gazillion German, Scandinavian, Italian, American, etc… are. Metal-Archives has a selection in their database and luckily we found 10 bands to be featured. So this episode is at the same time a call to all existing Luxembourgian bands to get in touch with us to help spread the word and sound. We hope to feature more bands in the future, but without their reply, it’s not going to happen. Again, due to our collections not holding much such material. Nevertheless, as always, we hope you enjoy this package. Feedback and suggestions are of course still welcome. Hosting: Si Tracklist: Polina, Judit, Tim, Si, Marcus, Kobe 01. European bands (mainly German ones, that be a coincidence ) dominate, but there’s countering from India, Brazil and Texas (USA). Style-wise it’s again pretty varied. No Doom, sorry, that’s for another occasion. Enjoy and like before, may it inspire you in your occupations, be them musical or otherwise. Cheers!  Episode 253 – Metal Soundtracks III | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:01:20

Beautiful weather, great to sit outside, have a beer, see a gig, etc… or catch up with your film/movie collection. Marcus from time to time posts a blog on movies he likes, but there are of course also artists and bands who provide music to the soundtracks. We’ve made two such specials so far, the first being episode 67 (a loooong time ago ), the second one dating from October 2010 (episode 177). And now volume three is here, featuring Motörhead, Children Of Bodom, Saxon, Cradle Of Filth, Strapping Young Lad, Poison, Pantera, Morbid Angel, Slayer and Agalloch.  Episode 252 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:07:34

Before we unleash another Special, the current episode revolves mostly about Norwegian and American bands. Norway sent 3 bands: Madder Mortem (Prog Metal), Mistur (Black Metal) and The Wretched End (Death/Thrash Metal). The USA countered with 4 bands: Yakuza (Avant-Garde Metal), Novembers Doom (Death/Doom Metal), Averse Safira (Black Metal) and New Eden (Power Metal). The remaining slots are filled by Nightmare (Power Metal – France), Toxic Heart (Southern Rock – Slovenia) and De Profundis (Black Metal – UK). As you can see, this episode is pretty extreme, though we hope the more melodic bands help to keep things balanced in terms of listening pleasure. As always, enjoy the show and feedback can be left at the usual places. Cheers! Hosting: Si Tracklist: Judit, Tim, Si, Marcus, Kobe 01. New Eden – The Not Self 02. Nightmare – The burden of God 03.  Episode 250 – Dragon Special | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 0:57:43

Back in February one of our listeners, Nathan Magus, suggested a Dragon Themed Special, since 2012 is said to be the Year Of The Dragon. We looked into our collections for songs about dragons. Of course the choices are legion, massive and more. There are many bands out there with songs that have the word dragon in the title or even in the band name. We didn’t really look for band names, didn’t really think of them, but we did find sufficient song material involving dragons. This could be the first of several Dragon Specials, but while we consider such a series, enjoy this Dragon Themed Special. Cheers! Hosting: Si Tracklist: Judit, Tim, Si, Marcus 01. When other genres get metallized… here’s our third Cover Special. In any case, it’s usually interesting to see how Metal bands take on Pop, Rock and other kinds of songs. Metal bands covering other Metal bands occurs very often. In this newest episode we have stuff originally by King Crimson, Limahl, Tom Waits, Mecano, Louis Armstrong, GG Allin, Stan Jones, Uriah Heep, Abba and Deep Purple.  Episode 246 – Long Songs Vol. 2 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:50:07

Metal bands write long songs, short songs, middlelong songs, epic songs, dramatic songs, and so on. We had a first episode with long songs (mininum 15 minutes per song) last year in episode 212. This time we present you the second Long Songs Special. Due to the length of the episode, we again limited the playlist to about half of what we usually play. Again we tried to present something from the different genres: Power Metal, Progressive Metal, Doom Metal and Black Metal, with songs that don’t sound like one song that has been stretched. Variety is key. Sit back, enjoy and should you have knowledge of other bands or songs that are minimum 15 minutes long, do not hesistate to contact us. Cheers! Hosting: Si Tracklist: Judit, Si, Tim, Marcus, Kobe 01. Domain – Shadowhall 02. Devin Townsend Project – The Mighty Masturbator 03. Darkspace – Dark 317 04. Dream Theater – The Count of Tuscany 05.  Episode 245 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:03:19

More Specials are planned, but as we don’t want to throw all our cards on the table, let’s play another regular. Next to the Thrash of Toxic Holocaust, the Black Metal of Himinbjørg, the Power Metal of Kaledon (a previously unreleased track, by the way) and Freedom Call, the Traditional Metal of Christian Mistress, the Folk of Cave Growl, the Death of Spawn Of Possession – well, it’s their style, not the band that has ceased to exist, obviously – and the Doom of Swallow The Sun (a new track) and last but not least, an oldie from Bathory, we present you the band Sa-da-Ko. Sa-da-Ko is one of the band which are on our long list of requests, which Kobe is now selecting from, starting thus with Sa-da-Ko.  Episode 244 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:17:28

A rather extreme episode this time, though there’s a nice balance between heavy riffs, thundering drums, happy melodies and bombastic operaticness. On the extreme side we have the Black Metal band Azaghal from Finland, the Death Metal formation Baht from Turkey and the Doom groupings XII Boar from the UK, The 11th Hour from The Netherlands and Pallbearer from the USA. On the melodic side of things, there is the Folk/Black/Power Metal combo Black Messiah from Germany (though one can also place them in the other camp), the Folk Metal assembly Dalriada from Hungary, the Gothic Metal bands Xandria from Germany and Diabulus In Musica all the way from Spain. Except perhaps for Dalriada, the rest is as new as can be. Enjoy! Hosting: Si Tracklist: Si, Tim, Marcus 01. XII Boar – Smokin’ Bones 02. Black Messiah – Der RIng Mit Dem Kreuz 03.  Episode 243 – Historical special Vol 3 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:13:41

Alrighty, people, take your history books. We’re starting way back in time, ten, maybe hundreds of years before the year of our Lord. The Lord Of Time will however NOT be your guide in this musical journey through ages past, as he’s taking the liberty to go skiing, now that everyone or most are back home and at work. Chapter 1: Helvetios by Eluveitie. From there we move on into the Roman empire in chapter 2 with Deströyer 666. We remain there for chapter 3, thanks to Spearhead. Moving on after that into 12th century with Magic Kingdom, while Hollenthon awaits us in the 15th century. Get set then for a jump forward with Imperial Vengeance as we enter Victorian times, followed by a trip to the 20th century serial killers. And killing also happens in WW II, where we are assisted by Barbatos. Sodom then takes us into Stalin territory, while Mob Rules shows us some insights regarding the murder on JFK. We all hope you’ve got pen and paper at the ready (or other means of writing). Buckle up, enjoy and do leave your impressions, at the end of the voyage, at the usual places. Thank you for choosing MetalCast Endeavours! Hosting: Si Tracklist: Si, Tim, Marcus 01. Eluveitie – Helvetios 02. Destroyer 666 – King of kings 03.
