And we’re back with more metal. This time the power metal of the Spaniards Dark Moor sets us on our journey, and the power is also present for PelleK from Norway later on in the show. Norway will also provide us with some progressive metal from Ishahn and some good old style black metal from Djevel. Courtesy of the Russian label Solitude Productions, doom rears its ugly head again in the form of Mental Torment from Ukraine and Evoke Thy Lords from Siberia. Japan shows its special talents with Gotsu Totsu Kotsu, and the Czech Republic launches out with a track from Umbrtka. Finally round this off with some Austrian epic black metal from Summoning and some psychedelic sludge from Kylesa in the USA. All in all an epic trip around the world for your benefit dear listeners! We hope you enjoy it! And away we go again! Back to haunt your nightmares, the Metalcast returns with more metal than you can handle. Thanks to all our devoted listeners for messages of support and positive energies sent our way, all is now back on an even keel and the metal just keeps coming. From the sprightly punk of Kvelertak through the full-on blackness of The Meads of Asphodel, this show will take you to the progressive metal of Ne Obliviscaris, via the filthy black morass of Poland’s Cultes des Ghoules. French sludge/post black metal (Regarde Les Hommes Tomber) and American stoner (Elder) then weaves the merry trail to the bleakness of An Autumn For Crippled Children. Some jovial tunes from Pensees Nocturnes bring us back on track for more proggy rock with Anciients. The glory of Panopticon then leaves us with a blackened smile as we drift off into the sunset. Tune in, drink up and enjoy the Metalcast!!!  Episode 270 – Tim Special | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:23:18

Hi, my name’s Tim. You may remember me from such episodes like…. most of them. Back in the day (anni 2006-2007), we used to have Crew Specials, where each MetalCast member presented his/her list of favourite bands (of that time, of their lives or otherwise). While I’ve contributed with a whole truckload of bands, be them big or small, well-known or upcoming, I never made a sort of “Me-episode”. Also because I’ve got so much material I could make several tens of ’em, since I like many bands and many bands have influenced my taste in Metal and music in general and this since more than 20 years. Metalwise I’m open for many genres: Power, Heavy, Thrash, Progressive, Death, Doom and a bit of Black (never been my cup of tea, except in combination with Folk, like Moonsorrow, Månegarm, Black Messiah, Falkenbach, etc.). I had to select ten bands and it could have been an entire focus on my first years in Metal, but I chose a mix of old and new. You can make connections with other bands or check my list – http://rateyourmusic.com/~TechThing – to know what I like. Since the past months I’m more in a melodic or Progressive mood, this is reflected in the selection, of course. Either way, as always, enjoy and keep it heavy! m/ We recommend Demenagement adt when you have heavy equipment to move. Check them out now. Several strange names this time, or, lots of new stuff. Where people get those albums, I haven’t got a clue, but Kobe, Si and Marcus certainly have an “alternative” view on the market. What’s on offer? We’ve got the more melodic tunes from Saxon, Civilization One and Voodoo Circle. Next to those, you’ll hear the experimental and Progressive tunes from Ørkenkjøtt, Leprous and The Flight Of Sleipnir. Completing the list are the more aggressive tunes by Advent Sorrow, Blood Tsunami and Agrypnie. Last but not least, there ‘s a chilled out song by October Falls. Enjoy! Host: Si Songs: Tim, Kobe, Si, Marcus Tracklist [rate] Civilisation One – The Supernatural Virtue Saxon – Guardians of the Tomb Blood Tsunami – In the Dungeon of the Rats The Flight of Sleipnir – Beneath Red Skies Advent Sorrow – A Porcelain Mistress Ørkenkjøtt – Profeten Leprous – Forced Entry Agrypnie – Trümmer / Aetas Cineris Voodoo Circle – Tears in the Rain October Falls – Boiling Heart of the North

More Power Metal, less extreme Metal. Please welcome: Vandroya, Holy Grail, Inner Siege and Borislav Mitic. The Swiss band Shakra also brings a lighter, yet very rocking touch to the whole. The extreme(r) side is reserved for the Black Metal of Sonic Reign, the Doom Metal of Egypt, the semi-instrumental tunes of Long Distance Callin, the Death Metal of Porteon and for a more Progressive influence we’ve got Grayceon to flip the coin another time. All in all, a bit more melodic music this time, but of course balance is needed to make it all the more worthwhile. Enjoy! Host: Si Songs: Judit, Kobinho, Si, Marcus Tracklist [rate] Holy Grail – Bestial Triumphans Inner Siege – Dragon Rider Sonic Reign – Daily Nightmare Injected Vandroya – No Oblivion for Eternity Portal – Curtain Egypt – World eater Borislav Mitic – Hidden Shakra – The Mask Long Distance Calling – The Man Within Grayceon – Pearl

So, 2012 is behind us and we’re ready to commence 2013. Yes, it’s already two months far, but even in accounting, the Metric Accountants  say that the year doesn’t always take off in January. For this first proper episode of 2013 we’ve got lots of extreme Metal, so to speak. You’ve got to blame Marcus and Si for that, though. Anyway, starting with Fleshgod Apocalypse, the bombastic and thunderous tone is set. Timor et Tremor are next with their Black Metal, followed by Viikate melodic music, to allow for a smoother digestion. Fen’s happy tunes are contrasted by Kremated’s Thrash/Punk style. This brings us the Belgian Symphonic Black Metallers from Saille and the devastating sounds of Deathspell Omega. Lashblood from Russia, Eibon La Furies! from the UK and the Doomsters Edenian from Ukraine (for fans of e;g. Draconian) complete the list. As always, enjoy and fear not, there will be more Power and Heavy next time. Host: Si Songs: Si, Marcus Tracklist [rate] Fleshgod Apocalypse – The Hypocrisy Timor et Tremor – Funeral Dawn Viikate – Tahdet Varjelkoon Fen – Hands of dust Kremated – Bastards! It’s this time of the year again, for the second time, as it’s part two of our view on the great stuff the previous year, in this case 2012, has brought us. For this second episode we’ve got for you: Be’Lakor, Doro, Alcest, Enslaved, Eye Of Solitude, Tenacious D, A Forest Of Stars, Dordeduh, Threshold, Wintersun, Slash and Ahab. Or, Melodic Death Metal, Progressive Metal, Folk Metal, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Black Metal, … another broad scala of styles. It’s this time of the year again: our view on the great stuff the previous year, in this case 2012, has brought us.  Episode 263 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:21:53

It’s been a few weeks, indeed, since our last episode. This due to our lives becoming a bit fuller, hence having to re-arrange our time schedules. But fear not, we have not forgotten you. In this new regular episode we offer another mix of various styles from the world of metallic sounds. Starting with the German band Paragon, who seem to have found their second youth. From the North, Enslaved walks in, joined by their Swedish comrades Beardfish. Already we have a musical contrast with these first three bands and their songs. Carying on then with Dordeduh from Romania. Speaking of which, maybe we could do a Romanian Special one day, for which we of course need to find enough candidates (at least 10). Going more westwards, we’ve got Blut Aus Nord greeting us, while even farther away are the Brazilians from Soulspell, adding their touch of Progressive Power Metal. This links well with the Hard Rockers from Heaven’s Basement, who are countered in style by Beautality. Ufomammut adds the psychedelic touch and last, but not least, there’s Forgotten Silence to close off with their experimental tunes. Enjoy! Hosting: Si Tracklist: Polina, Judit, Tim, Si, Marcus, Kobe 01. Paragon – Bulletstorm 02. Enslaved – Veilburner 03. Beardfish – Voluntary Slavery 04. Dordeduh – Pandarul 05.  Episode 262 – Si Special | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:14:03

This time our Lord Of Time aka Si eagerly wanted to present you his shortlist. No worries, it’s not all Black Metal. For the older episodes, look in the list for “Special (name)”. Enjoy! More Pagan Metal is provided by the Swedish King Of Asgard, while the Norwegian Kråke brings a slab of Black Metal, together with Alda (USA) and the Austrian Tirin Kôr. New bands emerge all the time and Inset from Poland makes sure that the legacy of Vader, Decapitated and Behemoth in terms of extreme Metal, will be kept alive.  Episode 259 – 80´s | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 0:49:46

Several weeks ago Marcus had the idea of playing some old stuff again, from the 80s, but focussing on true/epic Metal (Heavy and Power mainly). Then again, so did Jared Parks, who suggested a generation special about the 80s and/or 90s. This request of course can span several genres, thus also Thrash, Progressive, Death, Doom, Black, … So we looked into our collections, going just for the Heavy/Power/Hard Rock approach and found names like Alice Cooper, Guns ‘n’ Rose, David Lee Roth, Vicious Rumors, Twisted Sister and several more. So tune in, get your old school medicine to get through the day and don’t hesitate to let us know your findings. Rest assured, we will have one and more diverse episode(s) of the 80s or 90s with the bands we personally liked from those periods. Enjoy!
