Thompson's Top Five
Summary: Thompson Waite is an Australian-raised, NYC-based actor/writer/comedian/podcaster who enjoys making lists. In each episode of Thompson's Top Five he orders and analyzes his favorite books, movies, counterculture icons, comedians, fictional characters, viral videos, bands, internet memes, rock'n'roll records, writers and TV shows in order to gain a deeper understanding of his cultural coordinates. This process involves Thompson probing into his own psyche, a weird place where half-baked philosophies and phantom neuroses thrive like yeast on a warm Petri dish. By interviewing others Thompson strives to learn about the specifics that comprise the individual. Thompson's Top Five is a podcast for existentially-compulsive dilettantes interested in the minutiae of modern life. It is also an excuse for a moron to talk into a microphone for half an hour every week.

I really dug This is the End when I watched it a couple weeks ago. On this episode of the Thompson's Top Five listen to me rant about my five favorite things about the movie. Get some!
Dinner for Five was a hilarious TV show created and hosted by Jon Favreau that ran on IFC from 2001-2005. The premise behind each half-hour episode was simple - take five people from the world of showbusiness and film them talking over dinner and drinks. In early 2013 every single episode of Dinner for Five was made available to watch for free on Youtube. Some of the guests that appeared on the show that ran for four seasons include Louis CK, George Carlin, Vince Vaughn, Sarah Silverman, Will Ferrell, Billy Bob Thornton, Zooey Deschanel, Kevin Smith, John Waters, Will Ferrell, Andy Dick and Seth MacFarlane. I watched every single episode late last year and enjoyed it thoroughly. Find my podcast recap below, hope y'all dig it!
In tribute to the late, great James Gandolfini I decided to count down the fives best moments from seminal HBO TV show The Sopranos. I hope y'all dig the chat. Thanks for the memories T.
Ever had a back massage and made a weird noise by accident? Wasn't it one of the best noises you ever made, and you didn't even have to try??? There are people in this world who love all things unintentional. I am one of those people. I am an Unintentionalist. This week on the podcast I take a trip inside the world of Unintentional Stoner Comedies, movies that bring on weedy giggles surreptitiously like sneaky Trojan Horses. I highlight five flicks that you wouldn't think to throw on after acquiring some White Castle, however they all hit the spot for those who find themselves in the Green Zone. In this episode I also give it up for my good bud Luke Sweet who designed the Thompson's Top Five logo. Thanks dawg! Check out Luke's online portfolio here - http://lukesweet.com/ Also, my theme music is a loop taken from the tune "Rolled Out of Lazy" by Australian band Tunerfish. Check out the full version of the song plus all their other nasty beats here - https://soundcloud.com/tunerfish/sets/miles Enjoy zee talk and have a good fucking day! TW
How's it goin' sluts? The idea of starting a podcast has been percolating around in my head for a while now. When you spend a lot of time alone you tend to talk to yourself anyway - why not record the madness and see if anyone else appreciates it??? Thompson's Top Five is a weekly comedy podcast about lists. Lists I have made up, based on topics I have also plucked from somewhere. Creating a list is a good way to kill some time before we all enter the Void of Nothingness (death). I guess you could dispute that. The list bit anyway. For the first dip of my toes in the digital pod I decided to talk about the five best songs from Irish band The Thrills. I listened to them a lot when I was a younger dude and they soundtracked some real fun times. Although they are now on hiatus their songs live on and it was fun and nostalgic to revisit their best tunes. I hope y'all dig the talk. Find the link to listen to it below. Feedback is always appreciated. Tomorrow I will post the show notes for this episode. Mahalo, Thompson Waite
