Mr Potato Head Create & Play takes the Mr. Potato Head toy "virtual" in this fun iPad and iPhone game. I imagine just about every kid has heard of, played with or seen the classic Mr. Potato Head or Mrs. Potato Head by now. Watch the Mr Potato Head Create & Play app video now! http://youtu.be/jFTHIfKMXv0 The basics of the classic kids' game are to build virtual Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head's. There are different themes from the original Mr Potato Head to Mr Potato Head Pirate, Mr Potato Head Astronaut, and many more. You put Mr Potato Head together with simple, intuitive drag-and-drop touch control. Once you complete your Mr or Mrs Potato Head masterpiece, you can go into a variety of themed interactive places. Once at any of these cool interactive places, there are a variety of buttons to press to explore the different interactions that occur with your Mr. Potato Head. There is also an option to snap a photo during any of the interactions. The only real negative with the app is the cost for all Mr. and Mr. Potato Heads. You will have to fork out $12.99 for 11 different themed pairs (currently), with more coming soon. That comes out to approximately $1.18 for each Mr. and Mr. Potato Head pair, which could be kind of a steep price for families in today's economy. What do you think? These unique items can be filtered across a variety of website categories like: Amazon, Fab, and The Fancy. I can pretty much tell you that you won't get bored looking through the vast amount of items in those categories, but for some additional gift ideas in this iOS gift app, check out these unusual category filters: Gifts That Give Back, Green Gifts, Limited Edition, and Stocking stuffers. I really enjoyed browsing through the Cool Hunting Gift Guide app. As I perused the various categories and filters, I found myself favoriting a lot of interesting, bizarre and really cool items to put on my wish list. The wish list product images display in nice clean stacked boxes/windows, one over the other for enjoyable viewing. Other noteworthy things I found in the Cool Hunting Gift Guide app are: Driftwood Bottle Openers ($42), plantable Gift Trees ($3), and an FRX3 Hand Turbine (which is an emergency hand-crank device to power lights). Some of the more unusual things were: a Custom iPhone that comes with customs color options (to include diamonds and glass for $1700), a beautiful MegaPhone and stand for the iPod to amplify the sound without a set of speakers ($900), a Burger Duvet Cover bedding set ($115), an Authentic New York Hot Dog Vendor Cart ($5,500), and so many more "out-of-the-norm" gift ideas. On the downside, when you tap on the "Buy" button for any product to purchase an item or find out more, you'll exit the application and will have to re-enter the Cool Hunting Gift Guide each time you want to look at more of the gift items that this gift app features. I really wish there was an in-app browser to keep me in the app while shopping and exploring. I also found these really adorable (stoneware) hedgehog measuring cups ($36), but couldn't find out where to get them because of an invalid link.
