Film Finance Master Class » Film Finance Master Class Podcast
Summary: The Film Finance Master Class is dedicated to teaching film makers the art of film financing and all things related to the business of independent film making. Presented by film producer, Will Tiao.
In this episode, I speak with TV/film producer Josh Gummersall (Blood Diamond, Quarterlife), about crowdfunding as a source of film financing.
First of all, I want to welcome you all to the official launch of both the Film Finance Master Class blog and podcast. As most of you know, we recently launched the first online workshop for the FFMC. It’s been a huge success and a lot of fun. I’m very impressed by how passionate and willing to take action our members are. I’m looking forward to the weeks ahead. Still, many of you were unable to attend the workshop and I didn’t want the process to just stop for the rest of you. As a result, I’d like to introduce the first official episode of Film Finance Master Class Podcast. In the FFMC Podcast we’ll be discussing the business of film making. I plan to share industry news, important tips and tricks, Industry interviews and a whole lot more. In this first episode I decided to share my story. It’s essentially the story of how I went from working in a cubicle to producing a major feature film that has now been seen by millions of people around the world. This is not intended to be some vain opportunity for me to sit around talking about myself. Rather it’s my hope to give you some insight into at least one person’s real life experience with taking an idea for a movie and turning it into a reality. It’s my hope that in hearing my story you’ll hear various points along the way that resonate with your own experiences and hopefully inspire you to stay the course and ultimately succeed.
