The Paracast -- The Gold Standard of Paranormal Radio

Gene and Randall introduce Gary Voorhis Jr, a firsthand witness to part of the the U.S.S. Nimitz “tic-tac” UFO events during the week of the 14th of November 2004. He was a fire controlman and Aegis Computer/ CEC technician onboard the U.S.S. Princeton. When the unknown returns appeared on radar, Voorhis says he’d run up to the bridge and look through a pair of heavily magnified binoculars in the direction the returns were coming from. He says the objects were too far off to make out any distinguishing features, but he could clearly see something moving erratically in the distance. They’d just be hovering there, then all of a sudden, in an instant, they’d dart off to another direction and stop, behavior typical of a UFO. He also talks about those gun camera videos of these objects, and possible solutions to what was going on. Voorhis is now vice president of the UAP Expedition Group.

Gene and Randall present a thought-provoking discussion with ong time UFO author/researchers Jerome Clark and Chris Rutkowski. Jerry has written over a dozen books include the multivolume magnum opus, “The UFO Encyclopedia.” He’s also a songwriter whose music has been recorded or performed by musicians such as Emmylou Harris, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Tom T. Hall. Chris is a Canadian science writer and educator, with a background in astronomy but with a passion for teaching science concepts to children and adults. Since the mid-1970s, he also has been studying reports of UFOs and writing about his investigations and research.

Gene and Randall take a fascinating online journey exploring haunted houses with ghost hunter Jill Foote-Shelley, from St. Croix Paranormal. In addition to chasing ghosts, Jill will tell us about her purchase of the Boyd House, a dwelling with a history of paranormal activity. Jill says, “The more we go there the more the activity increases,” she says. St. Croix Paranormal investigates possible haunted places in the St. Croix Valley, which covers a wide area that includes in Minnesota, Wisconsin and surrounding areas. It was founded in 2010 by a group of volunteers who have the passion, knowledge and equipment to pursue the paranormal.

Gene and Randall present friendly skeptic Bryan Bonner from Colorado's Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society. He returns to talk about UFOs, theories, beliefs, and separating the real from the fakes. With extensive experience and training; using a collection of equipment and the most important tool, critical thinking, Bryan utilizes stage magic, mentalism and science to seek the evidence to solve the mysteries, and close the cases. His work has earned the respect of believers and skeptics alike; and earned the fear of fraudsters and charlatans. In some hilarious encounters, he outwits the con‐artists. He is an expert at exposing houses, pranks and scams, and creating some to prove a point.

Gene and Randall present Thiago Luiz Ticchetti, author of “UFO Contacts in Brazil.” Brazil is one of the countries with the highest UFO incidence in the world. The cases occurring in this country are among the most spectacular in Ufological literature and this book will bring the reader some of the most fascinating close encounter cases, many never published in English before, with many details, photos and illustrations. You learn about some of the most compelling cases during this episode. Ticchetti has been studying UFOs for more than two decades. He is co-editor and columnist for Brazil’s UFO Magazine, a columnist for UFO Truth magazine, and is the author of nine books on UFOs.

On this episode T Allen Greenfield, one of Gene's closest friends, brings his right-angle to the mainstream perspective to The Paracast. Allen the is a long-time student of esoteric spirituality and Gnosticism, a study he began in 1960. A past (elected) member of the British Society for Psychical Research, the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) (from 1960), etc., he has twice been the recipient of the "UFOlogist of the Year Award" of the National UFO Conference (1972 and 1992), which ran continuously on an annual basis for 41 years. He is also a Borderland Science Research Associate (BSRA). Allen, Gene and other long-time researchers, including Rick Hilberg, were pioneers of the teen Ufology movement in the early 1960s.

Gene and Randall present that inimitable cutting-edge thinker Red Pill Junkie (Miguel Romero). On this episode, RPJ opines on cutting-edge UFO research, and the frontiers of science and consciousness. In addition to the state of UFO research, the trio moves on to cutting-edge research. In response to news that Google may have made a breakthrough in developing a quantum computer, there is an extended conversation about quantum mechanics, consciousness, whether we are all living in a simulation, and even a brief debate about using the acronym UAP instead of UFO. Randall explains why he regards UFO as more informative in defining the main goal of research into the phenomenon.

Gene and Randall present UFO researcher and podcaster Martin Willis. Martin has been fascinated with the subject of UFOs since his youth, yet he was on the fence about the subject until he experienced a personal sighting in 2006 in Carmel Valley, CA. Pondering what UFOs may be, or if they are possibly extraterrestrial, helped spark his interest to another level. Martin thinks we may never find out what people are really seeing, but in his opinion, it is a most important and exciting puzzle to solve. Whatever the answer will be, he doesn’t think it will be mundane. In his day job, Martin is a longtime antique and fine art appraiser.

Gene and Randall introduce Kelly Farmer, host of the Explaining Esoterica podcast. On her show, Kelly explores the ideas and theories of researchers in the areas of Ufology, mythology, consciousness, and ancient civilizations. Her goal is to bring these concepts and research to the greater population, especially to those who may not have had much exposure to the various subjects covered. She interviews members of the community to discuss these deeper subjects and showcase their research in a visual and easily digestible format. By discussing it from an analytical point of view, she helps her audience gain a better understanding of the hard work these researchers do.

Gene and Randall introduce paranormal podcaster Katina Kyle, a.k.a. K-Town, a fellow podcaster with a unique approach to these subjects fused by her life experiences. Katina is a military veteran and the host and creator of Mysterious Radio and The X Podcast. In addition, she is the organizer of the Knoxville AlienXPO. Katina has worked in many different fields since leaving the military, but it’s working with children, serving in the military and now podcasting that she’s most proud of. K-Town has had a long interest in all things strange and unusual since witnessing “fire” suddenly start to blaze out of a hill at night when she was 14 years old. Always knowing that there was more going on in the unseen world, she started Mysterious Radio in 2016, and has conducted interviews on everything from UFO and alien phenomena, true crime, strange disappearances, true hauntings and more.

Gene and Randall present Fortean researcher and writer Brent Raynes, editor of Alternate Perception. In this episode, Raynes focuses on his 2019 book, "John A. Keel: The Man, The Myths, and the Ongoing Mysteries." Keel's theories about paranormal phenomena have inspired many researchers to consider new possibilities that might explain what's going on, and Raynes has done an extensive study into Keel's life and work. Raynes has traveled extensively across the U.S. and Canada interviewing numerous witnesses and researchers. He has taken a comprehensive global and historical perspective on the Ufological landscape. Raynes has also participated in Native American rituals and ceremonies, gaining valuable insights and information from his interactions with these wisdom keepers. His work has given him a broad perspective into interrelated experiences and disciplines of parapsychology, shamanism, Jungian archetypes and Ufology.

Gene and Randall present a Paracast favorite, author and researcher Kevin D. Randle. During this episode, he discusses Calvin Parker and the 1973 Pascagoula UFO abduction, and how his memories might have been altered through the misapplication of hypnotic regression. Kevin goes on to talk about his efforts to "chase the footnotes" and take a new look at some of the key evidence for the Roswell UFO crash. Kevin has written more than 80 fact and fiction books, including a recent work, "Encounter in the Desert: The Case for Alien Contact at Socorro," which recounts the classic 1964 sighting. He also served for years in the military, which included deployments during the Vietnam War and the second Gulf War. He retired from the Iowa National Guard as a lieutenant colonel in 2009.

Gene and Randall present a return visit by UFO abductee Calvin Parker, one of the two men who claim to have been abducted by a UFO in Pascagoula, Mississippi on the evening of October 11, 1973. Parker and a friend, Charles Hickson, claimed that they were “conscious but paralyzed” while three “creatures” took them aboard an oval-shaped craft and subjected them to an examination before releasing them. Parker has written two books about the encounter, the first “Pascagoula — The Closest Encounter: My Story,” and the second, “Pascagoula – The Story Continues: New Evidence & New Witnesses.” Both are published by Philip Mantle. The second book also includes transcripts of hypnotic regressions of Parker that were conducted by Budd Hopkins and Kathleen Marden.
