Master Chief Prosser (COB) is given his parole and is released from the brig to help find three crew members that have have been captured by Serrat who demands Chaplin pick up cargo from a ship outside the perimeter in exchange for their release. More than twenty American warships are approaching the perimeter around the island. Chaplin activates the Perseus stealth device that makes the sub undetectable and launches an unarmed torpedo at the Illinois to warn them off. Captain Marcus Chaplin is commander of the USS Colorado, a ballistic missile submarine. He receives an order to launch two missiles – the target is Pakistan – but they’ve received the order over a low security radio band and when he requests confirmation, Chaplin is relieved of command and fired upon.
