 The Fridgecast: Episode 27 - San Diego Comic-Con 2014 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:46:51

Did you miss us? We missed you!  Now that our SDCC coverage has finally wrapped up, we sat down and talked about it, because that's how much we miss it.  It may only technically last 5 days, but it's actually some kind of magic time compression that actually shoves about 3 months of events, activities, giveaways, and things-to-do into a single extended weekend. This is a super-sized episode that's broken up into two parts. In the first part, Rob Piontek and I talk about our weekends during the event and all the cool stuff we got to do and see.  We took a blurry photo with Phil Coulson. We got to play video games. We met Batman (again) and found out what's in store for Master Chief.  It was pretty great. In the second part, the other half of OTF's SDCC attack force - Krys Lewis, Claire Rudolph, and Vicky Bartolo - talk about their time at the Sleepy Hollow press rooms and more.  Krys, Claire, and Vicky came through in a way that I cannot express.  The schedules this year prevented us from doing so many things (we called this one "ConflictCon 2014"), but their help allowed us to get some great stuff.  Thanks a bunch, ladies! So, like a phoenix from the ashes, listen to the Fridgecast podcast!

 The Fridgecast: Episode 24 - NYCC’s Voice Over Special | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:34:50

This humble little website has given us at OTF the opportunity to meet some pretty amazing people, but few have starstruck our jaded nerd minds quite like voice actors.  We would get home from school, throw our bookbags on the floor, and turn on the TV to watch yet another episode of Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Batman the Animated Series, Tiny Toons, and so on.  We had no idea at the time, but the voice actors behind our favorite characters were shaping our childhoods right then and there. Our very own Rob "Tek" Piontek has been a fan of these guys for so long that, when he had the opportunity to hunt down some of the people behind our favorite shows, he jumped at it. First, in what is becoming somewhat of a NYCC tradition, Tek spoke with Rob Paulsen (Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Mighty Max, TMNT, everything else) about his ever-evolving Talkin' Toons podcast, which now moving to a new venue for its weekly live show. Next, we had the opportunity to attend the Paley Center for Media event celebrating Batman: The Brave and the Bold and its upcoming Blu-Ray release.  There, Tek got a chance to speak with Diedrich Bader (Batman), John DiMaggio (Aquaman), Emmy-winning voice director Andrea Romano, and series producer James Tucker. This episode is a must-listen if you're a fan of animation and the people behind it -- and, if you're not, you're probably a jerk. Get into the booth and plug into this very special, voiceover friendly episode of the Fridgecast!

 The Fridgecast: Episode 23 - Comic Conquest | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:17:21

After our chat with the wonderful Vanessa Marshall, we found ourselves talking about Comic-Con all over again! Yes, it's been a few months since San Diego, but we're looking forward to the quickly approaching New York Comic Con in October and beyond!  The comic con (lower case "c") has kind of dominated our lives in recent years. We try to go to as many as our meager budgets allow. But why? What is so appealing that we spend so much of our time, money, and energy in a day (or four) of "comic stuff"? This episode is a long one since it's composed of two parts: in the first part (recorded back in early August), Dwight, Tek, and Sean talk about San Diego Comic Con and Boston Comic Con. Dwight and Tek share their stories from San Diego, and Sean, a (relatively) new parent, talks about being a parent at a convention for the first time when he brings his daughter to Boston. In the second part (starting at about the 45 min mark), Dwight, Amy, and our guests Rob and Erin Guerrera talk about convention firsts - Amy's first San Diego experience and first time as a panelist at the Star Trek convention, Rob's experience at his first ever convention in New York last year, and what Erin can look forward to when she experiences the whole scene for herself for the first time in a few weeks. Make it all the way to the end of this two hour episode, and I owe you a coke!
