Last week I posted a podcast detailing the financials of the Invisible Children organization from 2011. In this podcast I used the available information I had to garner my opinion. Over the course of the past few days I have gone through as much of their tax information as I could, as well as the history regarding Uganda, Invisible Children, the LRA, Kony, and President Yoweri Museveni. This podcast serves as an update, and my final word on the matter.
On March 6th, 2012, Invisible Children Inc launched a new viral campaign to make LRA leader Joseph Kony famous enough to get all the governments in the world to help Uganda bring him to justice for his war crimes. The organization itself has shady business practices and has been heavily scrutinized by various organizations for not being forthcoming with the amount of money it receives/spends. This podcast is an overview of the KONY 2012 movement, the breakdown of the 2011 finances of the Invisible Children Non-Profit company, criticisms, and possible "cult" actions by the group.
The "Connecticut River Valley Killer" refers to an unidentified serial killer believed responsible for a series of similar knife murders mostly in and around Claremont, New Hampshire, and the Connecticut River Valley, primarily in the 1980s.
