Dispatch from the Southern Cross by RADIO YACHT
We found Claire's old 4-track in a box. The tape inside, when we played it back, kept warping. The original was a single-microphone recording of guitar; this rhythm is a consequence of a damaged playhead, like the Tascam is playing along. We couldn't get much of the old songs, but we built this out of what was left over.
Second Summer is a state of mind: overcoming obstacles in order to be close to what you love, a temporal place where sun never goes out no matter what season it is in your hemisphere. Like the original Summer of Love and its acid house revival, the Second Summer of Love, our aim is true: to create environments of total freedom. Produced, Recorded, & Played by Jona Bechtolt Vocals by Claire L. Evans Additional Vocals by Rob Kieswetter & Anna Oxygen Additional Keyboard by Rob Kieswetter

Le Goudron (Bobby Birdman Remix) by RADIO YACHT
"Le Goudron" is a surrealist revolutionary song originally recorded in 1969 by Brigitte Fontaine with The Art Ensemble of Chicago; YACHT has reinvented its naive-apocalyptic candor for a neon-soaked dance floor, our preferred autonomous zone.

The Earth, the Earth is on fire! We don't have no daughter, Let the motherfucker burn! We are hungry, we are all tired. Our tongues they are all on fire. The walls that we build are higher, higher, higher, higher. Strange days lead to strange nights. You aren't afraid of the dark dark dark dark When it's where you walk walk walk walk, When it's where you learn to talk. Every day the sky gets lower, lower, lower, lower, And every day the tide is blacker, blacker, blacker, And every day the flames get higher, higher, higher, Yeah, every day the flames get higher, higher, higher! The Earth, the Earth is on fire! We don't have no daughter, Let the motherfucker burn! The Earth, the Earth is on fire! If we cut off the water Then the jackals would return. We live like lions, we live our lives With no more husbands, No more wives, We let our children multiply 'cause we're afraid of dying.
