Comic Book Cinema

When you are tasked with the enormous responsibility of giving critical information to the masses--as we find ourselves doing--it is sometimes necessary to dig deep in the muck and come out with something that isn't always nice and smelly-goody (as we like to say). Sometimes, the job is downright dreadful. Well, dear sweet listeners, that day--that time--is now. If you've been keeping up with us and our trudge (prance?) through the current Marvel movies, you would know that we are about to embark on the ecstacy that is the Avengers. HOWEVER, we have decided to take a turn for the worse and knock out a lesser known tie-in as part of our self-depricating punishment for the month of February: Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD! That's right. Yes. Yes....we know. There are few gems as shining, as glowing as this monument to comic cinema. But we have uncovered it (and paid for it...in more ways than one) for you. Why? Because we love you. ...what? that's not right? JONATHAN!!!! I'm not saying that, man. We don't love the fans. We don't even know if we have any. Just... nevermind. Roll tape.

We've been at this for nearly half a year now. We've come a long way and have begun to know each other in ways that we may not have wanted to think of before. That's right. I finally found out that this Mississippi hick that I do the show with is just a racist piece of....oh wait....what? He just wants the Electro character to be as close to the comics as possible? Well...I mean...that's not really that bad. I thought he didn't like *hand to mouth in a whisper* people who didn't have a pale complexion. What?! He's really a sensative guy that loves all of mankind and believes in just one race: the Human Race? THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT!!! This guy hasn't entered a race in years! And on top of that, he's just plain riddled with phlebitis. Either way, neither of us are winning any awards for this show!

This may have gotten deeper than we originally intended. Sure, sure...we lover character development and growth, but do we really need to get into existential thought and transcendant territories of the mind. But who am I kidding? That's the audience we have. When they demand to be shown the light of truth, how can we just ignore something like that? Plus, you get a bunch of interesting choices from our co-hosts on what makes the greatest superhero movies! Enjoy the show!

I don't understand why this is a big deal? I mean, we all love to hate the guy and Sam Rockwell does an amazing job at playing him...AND he got that muscle-bound Rooskie the bird! He's funny, suave, and debonair. And don’t tell me that those two things are the same. I know suave when I see it and it’s NOT debonair! But, alas, as Jonathan and I sit with our newly grown beards to talk about the woes of Iron Man 2 and the Top 5 best super villains as portrayed in a foreign documentary, we let our minds wander to and fro of what would be…if we were directing. Ah, the musical numbers we could put together. But enough about our love of off-Broadway productions. Let’s get on with the show!
