3 points at halftime Saturday night in West Lafayette, IN. Purdue was looking like a team ready for the upset. They were able to move the ball against the Irish on the opening drive but the game was only 10-3 at halftime. Whatever happened in the Notre Dame locker room at halftime worked because the...

The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 17 – At Least We Had Something Pretty to Look At | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 37:57

Well that didn't go as planned Irish fans. Kudos to the senior class, the coaching staff, the players for an excellent 12-0 season (ok 12-1). You made Notre Dame relevant again (ahem Rick Reilly). The Irish were clearly outclassed, outperformed, outhustled, everything that could go wrong, did. It just wasn't our day as Irish fans. In this episode, Kevin and Seubs discuss the game and look ahead to next year's schedule. In this week's show: rate and review the show in iTunes! We appreciate all of the early support so far.  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 16 – BCS Title Game Preview | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 44:25

Well it's been a month since we last recorded the podcast. Notre Dame STILL hasn't played their bowl game. Can Monday get here any quicker? It feels like forever ago that Notre Dame wrapped up their 12-0 regular season at USC. Monday night, the Irish will take on the champs of the SEC the Crimson Tide of Alabama. The Irish who are ranked higher and have one less loss than Bama surprisingly are 10 point underdogs in this game. I remember the last time that Notre Dame were double digit dogs, against Oklahoma. Remember what happened? Brian Kelly is looking to add his name to Notre Dame lore as another head coach who won a National Championship in his third season like the many Irish greats before him.  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 15 – Bowl Pick Em | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:38

We now know the opponent. The Irish now have a chance to knock off the defending champion Alabama Crimson Tide. Two programs with deep history, legendary coaches, players and more. Nick Saban has made it to this game now 4 times, 3 with Bama. Brian Kelly has guided only one team to a BCS bowl and didn't even coach in the game. Either way, it should be a great game, one for the ages! On Saturday night, the Irish will also make history when hopefully Manti Te'o becomes the first true defensive player to win a Heisman Trophy.  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 14 – Goin to Miami | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 10:10

12-0. How does it feel IRISHNATION!?! With a 22-13 win over the Trojans, the Irish sealed their trip to Miami January 7th. There they will most likely play the winner of the SEC Championship game between Alabama and Georgia who are both ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively in the BCS standings. How many of you thought at the beginning of the year that the Irish would find themselves 12-0? I know we didn't. Lots and lots to be thankful for, like Brian Kelly coming to Notre Dame three years ago. Like Manti Te'o staying for his senior season. Like Theo Riddick's ability to hit the circle button and spin his way out of the backfield vs USC. It's been a long time coming, and now we wait!  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 13 – On the Doorstep | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 43:11

With a 38-0 win over Wake Forest on Senior Day, coupled with losses by Kansas State and Oregon, Notre Dame finds itself at the peak of the college football landscape. Feels like forever ago since we've been able to utter that phrase. 19 long years folks. 1993 was the last time that the #1 sign above Grace Hall was lit up for football. Hard to believe that the College Football Hall of Fame, located in South Bend, has never hoisted the Notre Dame helmet into the #1 ranking. The building opened in 1995. Count 'em, 19 years. I was in 7th grade the last time Notre Dame was #1. How about being the first team in NCAA/BCS history to be #1 in the BCS rankings and #1 in graduation rates. So I guess you can win at Notre Dame and graduate your players after all. The Irish are on the doorstep, inching one step closer to becoming Notre Dame legends.  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 12 – Take Away the C from BCS and You Get? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 35:43

I understand that the most important thing is to "Just Win Baby", but that win Saturday night vs Boston College? Insert Homer Simpson sound byte "BOOOOOOOOORING". Look I'm the biggest Irish homer there is but c'mon a 21-6 win over Boston freakin College isn't going to help your National Title chances. I understand that K-State and Oregon haven't played nearly the schedule that the Irish have, I get that. But when the human element is 2/3 of the process, at some point you need to put on a show, dazzle some folks. This weekend, Senior Day, may be the Irish's last chance to be "impressive". Let's hope they don't squeak another win out at home. In this week's show: rate and review the show in iTunes! We appreciate all of the early support so far. Go Irish!!!  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 11 – Holy Pitt | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:55

The Luck of the Irish. That's what it boils down to. The Irish got a break on an iffy pass interference call, a missed double jersey number call if that's what you want to call it. Either way, the Irish squeak one out versus the Pittsburgh Panthers. Whew. 9-0. It sure was ugly. But in the words of the late Al Davis, "Just Win Baby". That's exactly what the Irish continue to do here in 2012. How many of you thought THAT was possible this year? Be honest! This has been one of the more memorable Irish seasons in quite some time.  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 10 – Irish Dominate the Thooners | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:59

Another week, another Irish victory, this time at the hands of the Sooners in Norman, OK Saturday night. It wasn't just a win, it was an impressive win. It was a dominant win, it was a "is this really happening" win. Though the tell tale signs came early on the Sooners first drive when the center snapped the ball with no one behind him stalling what looked to a promising drive. This Irish team has been the most fun to watch for me personally in a long long time. I was only 7 during the 88 championship and frankly don't remember much of it. Now I'm getting to see the Irish have a legit chance at a National Championship. First thing's first, BEAT PITT. In this week's show: rate and review the show in iTunes!  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 09 – Irish Avoid the Trap | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:31

The proverbial trap game. The game sandwiched in between an emotional hard fought win (Stanford), and an opponent that is a major stumbling block to your National Championship dreams (Oklahoma). BYU, fresh off a thumping at home against Oregon State came into South Bend and put up a dogfight. In fact, they dominated the game. The Irish minus their starting QB Everett Golson, went with Tommy Rees who at times looked great, and others merely OK. That's not good enough though and certainly won't be in Norman, OK this weekend as the Irish head to prairie to take on the Sooners. We will know late on Saturday whether or not this team is a team of destiny. In this week's show: rate and review the show in iTunes! We appreciate all of the early support so far. Go Irish!!!  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 08 – Not In Our House | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:58

It has been a long time coming. The Irish are now 6-0 on the year. Kevin didn't think it was possible, neither did Seubs. Neither did a lot of people. No one thought the defense would be THIS good. Staring at a 1st and goal from the one yard line, the Notre Dame defense stopped the powerful Stanford Cardinal. Matched them punch for punch and with the knockout blow on 4th and goal, the Irish protected their house. Bring on Cougar Town. In this week's show: rate and review the show in iTunes!  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 07 – Bring on the Cardinal | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 37:48

5-0. Haven't given up a touchdown since Purdue on Sept 8th. Haven't given up a rushing TD since 2011. Haven't trailed in a single minute of 2012. Who are THESE Irish? Over 300 yards rushing against The U? I know it's not same Miami squad as those vaunted teams from the early 2000's but still. What a year the Irish have had so far, here's to hoping it continues this weekend in South Bend as the Irish host the Stanford Cardinal. In this week's show: Kevin's experience at The Shamrock Series in Chicago

 The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 06 – Irish Drop Michigan….Literally | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 37:26

How about them Fighting Irish? 4-0 for the first time in 10 years, heading into the bye week with a chance to build upon their early season momentum. What's more surprising? How about this defense? With the loss of key starters before and during the seasons, the Irish secondary has been playing way above expectations. In this week's show: Denard hands the Irish a win. The defensive front played superb. Rees saves the day for the Irish offense. Are the Irish ranked too high? Shoutouts/Announcements Notre Dame decides to opt out of their contract for the Michigan series with the final game coming in 2014. We're joined this week by Ryan Ritter a.k.a.  The Irish Impact Podcast – Episode 05 – Defense Crashes the Sparty Party | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:34

Who is this Irish team? 3-0 to start the year? The defense has given up just 30 points in its first 3 games. It is the lowest point total that Irish have allowed in its first three games of the season since their last National Championship team allowed 27 in 1988. Michigan State NEVER reached the Red Zone Saturday night and only had one possession inside Irish territory in the 2nd half. Nice work defense! In this week's show: The Irish put the beatdown on Sparty Eiferts consecutive games with a catch streak snapped Golson wasn't great but didn't need to be either Ben Turk's punting was pivotal in the field position battle Manti Te'o had a performance like no other when you consider the off field heartache he had been feeling Shoutouts/Announcements The Irish and the ACC deal We look ahead to Michigan, stop SHOELACE PLEASE!
