For the Funkdawgs, It's always been about the mix. A virtual mix of talented jazz musicians. A unique mix of backgrounds and cultures from around the planet. An exciting of original jazz-funk material. And now the eclectic mix of a Dawg's Life. Eight new virtual tracks created via internet wav files. Five live concert tracks from the Dawg's historic first gig at Nashville's Gibson Showcase in April, 2006. Plus a live studio track recorded during rehearsals for the concert. After five years of creating in isolation, the magical Nashville experience of finally meeting face-to-face has expanded the channels of friendship and musical exploration even further for the Dawgs. Fresh tracks, new arrangements and passionate playing. It's easy to see how they're really livin' a dawg's life. www.funkdawgs.com www.cdbaby.com/funkdawgs3

Over the past five years the Funkdawgs have released two internationally-respected and well-received independent albums, Borderless and Dawgma, but had never met face-to-face. That’s because the Dawgs all connect, create, contribute and produce their music via the Internet…sending self-recorded WAV files to each other as their songs are developed. Dream became true last April 2006 when FUNKDAWGS played live for the first time at Gibson Showcase Lounge in Nashville TN (USA). On main site www.funkdawgs.com click on live section to reach the video with some shots of their live performance at Gibson Showcase... 17 minutes of video there for you to see you favourite DAWGS playing together for the first time... after few hours of rehearse... finally together on stage. We hope this was the first of several future appereances. Special guest on Cat's Meow, Foundation and Free Delivery tunes Mr. John Garr on second saxophone. FUNKDAWGS would like to thank all those people helped and supported the band through these five years. THANK YOU!!

Nashville Music Guide magazine, April 2006 INTERNET FUNKDAWGS COME ALIVE Imagine a band recording 2 albums and never having met person to person. That's exactly what the Funkdawgs band did. With musicians all over the world that hooked up on the mp3.com site these stellar players recorded a jazz R&B funky sound that is out of this world. The group was formed in 2001 and have release two internationally-acclaimed independent albums, BORDERLESS (2003) and DAWGMA (2005). These stellar players met in person for the first time to reharse for their first live gig on April 1st at the Gibson Showcase Club in Nashville USA. The musician ship at the show was extraordinaire, from the flawless guitar riffs to the soulful solos of the sax player woven around a toe tapping jazz and R&B groove. If the live performance is indicative of their CD's, you need to check out their web site (www.funkdawgs.com). Sadly the next live performance of the band will not be in Nashville but this summer on Saratoga NY. The Drummer Filippo told NMG, "We all had home studios and never met person to person until this week for our 1st live performance. Bob Johnson, the Saxophone player was the catalyst to get us all together". The Funkdawgs members are Bobby Brewer from Nashville USA (guitar), Filippo Bertacche from Vicenza Italy (drums), Bob Johnson from Ottawa Canada (sax), Bill Lawrence from Albany NY USA (bass) and Kyle Whitlock from Columbia South Carolina USA (keyboards). www.funkdawgs.com
World’s First Virtual Jazz-Funk Band The Funkdawgs To Experience Reality with Visit to Nashville Nashville, Tennessee (February, 2006) – Without an actual physical presence since they were formed in 2001, the Funkdawgs, the first virtual jazz-funk band on the planet, are coming together for the very first time in Nashville the last week in March culminating with a concert on Saturday, April 1st at the Gibson Showcase Lounge. The Funkdawgs are five talented, innovative jazz musicians who have gained years of experience, both in the studio and on stage, and still feel the need to create from their various locations around the globe. The Funkdawgs feature guitarist Bobby Brewer from Nashville, drummer Filippo Bertacche from Vicenza, Italy; saxophonist Bob Johnson from Ottawa, Canada, bassist Bill Lawrence from Albany, New York; and keyboardist Kyle Whitlock from Columbia, South Carolina. Over the past five years the Funkdawgs have released two internationally-respected and well-received independent albums, Borderless and Dawgma, but have never actually met face-to-face. That’s because the Dawgs all connect, create, contribute and produce their music via the Internet…sending self-recorded WAV files to each other as their songs are developed. Their musical influences range from funk to fusion to soul jazz to blues to Latin jazz to acid. It’s a heady mixture of rhythms and melodies that breath new energy into today’s world jazz scene. For their Nashville get-together two major activities are planned. First, an opportunity to finally meet, rehearse and play together. Second, the chance to perform live as a band and video record their concert at the Gibson Showcase Lounge. The Funkdawgs first gig ever is set for a 5 pm start on Saturday, April 1st. The Gibson Showcase Lounge is directly across the street from the Grand Ole Opry. For further information contact: www.funkdawgs.com firstname.lastname@example.org www.gibsonshowcase.com/bluegrass/

Previous clients Saxophone Journal, Jazz Player Magazine, Bassics Magazine, Evolved Sound (On Hold Music, Australia), Music Minus One.Available instruments: basses, rhythm or solo (fretted, fretless) drums (jazz, rock sets) guitars, rhythm or solo (electric, acoustic) keyboards, rhythm or solo (pianos, Hammond organ) saxophones, section or solo synthesizers, keyboard or wind How Does it Work? Here's how. You send us an mp3 playback of your song, minus the instrument(s) you want us to provide you with. Assuming your mp3 file is available somewhere on the Web, this can be done by including a live link to your mp3 demo in an email. It is best to have a 2 bar click countoff at the start of the song for your benefit. We'll include that when we send you back your completed track(s). This gives you a reference point for lining up the tracks in your session. Your completed new tracks will have no EQ or effects added unless you ask for them and the tracks will be totally separated from your initial mix. We can provide finished tracks either as mp3 or wav files at the Funkdawgs server for you to download. This allows you to fly OUR tracks into YOUR production where you completely control the final mixdown. Turnaround time is usually less than 1 week. If you prefer to work with CD's in the mail that's OK too but then it generally takes much longer to close the circle. You can listen to samples directly to our web site (under Music Production page). Email the Dawgs if you'd like to put us on your team.
Presenting a breath of fresh air on the nu jazz scene. Dawgma, the exciting, much-awaited second release from the Funkdawgs delivers 14 new tracks that have come together in the true spirit of musical collaboration. Because the band doesn't really exist; except in the 'virtual realm'. In fact, most of the Funkdawgs members have never met face-to-face. The Funkdawgs are five highly-talented, innovative jazz musicians who have gained years of experience, both in the studio and on stage, and still feel the need to create from their various home studios around the planet. Although from different cities in different countries (United States, Canada and Italy), they definitely feel the same groove and passion for jazz-funk. The original instrumental material they create has many familiar influences that surface in their compositions. It's an exploration that wouldn't have been possible without today's advanced digital recording and Internet technologies. All the compositions on Dawgma have been recorded in the virtual studios of each musician, with tracks being exchanged across cyberspace and assembled in digital software on the Funkdawgs' studio computers. Feel the contemporary nu-jazz directions that Dawgma delivers. Influences range from funk to blues to R & B to fusion to Latin jazz to acid. It's a heady mixture of rhythms and melodies that breathe new energy into today's world jazz scene. Dawgma is available by order only through CDBABY.COM at www.cdbaby.com/funkdawgs2 or at www.funkdawgs.com
