Good Day Podo's, sorry about being late with this one. Apart from being very distracted, I havent been feeling much inspiration lately, so rather than force something out, I decided to just put stuff together as I came across them. This one is very organic, complicated with a hint of tech, just like I LOVE it. Drums galore. It took me forever to get it right, but it was well worth it, and not too many mistakes. But here it is uncut, unedited and mixed live of course so no computer enhancements or cleaning up (not that there's anything wrong with that eigther). Well I had some spare time yesterday, and adding a couple new finds ended up banging this one out. By no means a dancehall stomper, but an excellent rainy day companion, getting a little nasty just for the sake of it. I know its summer time and the sun should be out and the roof top bars are banging out the hard stuff, and the pool parties are soulful etc... but its fucking raining everyday here in Florida, torrential I tell you!!!, so this is how i felt... take it for what it is. I really am getting bored with run of the mill soulful house so I’ve been foraging into more interesting deep house beats and of course worldly flavours. Of course this means a more laid back “cool and relax” vibe, or elevator music as my darling daughter calls it, but I’m good with it. This one, well this one has been in planning for quite a while just because I can’t seem to find any soulful house vibe out there that interests my musical tastes of the moment. So here we are PodO’s… Deep House Vol. 20. There really hasn’t been anything in the soulful realm that has turned me on lately so I find myself diving into the Deep end, and those with a little more techy edge than I normally allow myself to listen to. But then again as long as the beat’s interesting, I’ll go with it, if it fits in. This one started out as what should have been my New Years Eve mix to be honest, but I wasn’t feeling it then. I used a couple of the tracks that were originally planned for this one, but they didn’t really fit anyway so I’m fine with this line up. I enjoyed mixing it down, so that’s what counts really. The mix starts off in the deep end, then progresses into the tech edge culminating with Mike Dehnert’s Grundform, a BEAST of a track, and then brings you back down gently(ish) to end on a high note with Rachel Row (AGAIN – I used the original version in my NY2K13 mix).
